If you're doing a destination wedding and aren't planning on having a lot of family with you, look into vacation resorts - some will give great deals and a free wedding for staying there.
In LA you can have weddings on public beaches for free, but you can't control who's there. Here it can be chilly (and a bit windy) on the beach until early summer. If you do it right on the beach in the afternoon you'll want to know where the tide comes in.
There's a number of restaurants here that have a private beach, and will let you do the ceremony outside (or overlooking the water) and the reception on the patio or inside.

First - congratulations. This is a deeply personal decision and I think I understand your dilemma. I don't know how to say this without sounding arrogant - it's really not intended that way. I'm taking a family law class and one of the things we've discussed in our marriage forum was the value that society puts on marriage and two-parent families. Although we have so many non-traditional relationships (unmarried parents, single parents, step-parents, etc) societally we still value the "legitimacy" of a child being born into wedlock. Many religions also frown upon a child not born into wedlock - is that a factor? If that's at all a factor the absolutely have the wedding before. I think if the two of you want to be married and want a small ceremony and can put it together by all means get married IF that's the wedding you want... If you want the grand march down the aisle and the gown and attendants and all those bells and whistles, then please wait until you're able to have that wedding.

Beach weddings are fun, romantic & beautiful; just remember if you do pick March, you may end up freezing your butt off. I lived in Southern California for almost 30 years, the beach is not somewhere I would pick to have my wedding in March, not only for my sake, but the sake of my guests. Anytime between May and September would be a much better time frame for the beach.

Beach wedding are a great idea. They can also be done on any budget. The gulf coast of Florida has the best beach wedding locations. Destin in Florida is beautiful and there are so many wedding services in this area that can be found on the web. You honey moon could be in the sane time. How great would it be to have no travel time to the honey moon fun?!

Well before you begin wedding preparations. think of how much you plan to spend, and if it equals the deposit on a house which you can afford, then put your monies into this and have a sweet, old fashion "house " wedding. So much time & money is lost on the "wedding of the day", Invest it wisely in a home that you and your future husband will share. We had a friend that spent 40,000 on a lavish wedding for his daughter. In six months time it was a done deal. Had they invested some of the money into a property, they would have recouped their investment and each, enough to start afresh. Give it some thought.

I wouldn't suggest march for a beach wedding.. June, July or August would be better. There will be less wind and less chance of rain.
The only other advice I have is that you don't spend a lot of money on your wedding... trust me your not going to remember it.
Spend a lot of money on a good photographer and your honeymoon.

April wedding is beautiful because the flowers are beginning to bloom. Laguna Beach has some wonderful views for a wedding. But my biggest suggestion....get a wedding planner. It will save you alot of headache and sanity. Best wishes.

Well CONGRATULATIONS! I love the idea of a beach wedding. I love the whole "surrounded by nature" idea. Churches are pretty but they are so cliche ya know? Good things happen in march, my birth for instance lol, so it is a nice month. Plus not a lot of people get married then so it will be original.

Congratulations!!
I am getting married in March, and the one thing I will tell you is this....do NOT let anyone tell you how your wedding should be, and trust me, they will try. It's YOUR wedding and if you want to rollerblade down the aisle, do it.
Also, it's very expensive to have a wedding, so if your parents aren't paying for, you had better get a credit card.
Other than that, good luck!!

Depends where you live. On the West Coast, or on the East Coast in the South (Carolinas and south), a March beach wedding would be okay.
