Okay so I am freshly engaged as of yesterday! Yeah for me. Anyways, I am trying to work out as many details as possible, getting ideas so it won't be crunch time and as stressfull. I am wondering how to find somethings, like the cake topper to match the invites I want from Children of the Inner Light. Also, can't find my bridesmaid dresses for that will match my dress that is white with black trim. Any good ideas are welcome! We have our site and date, Josh is just leaving it all up to me :( :) Any help would be great. Also, on photographers, anyone know of a cheap but great one in Wisconsin? Thanks in advance!

Amward...simmer down...simmer down now!!!!
CONGRATULATIONS. Now, calm down.
You can get bridesmaids dresses on line, all you need is a measuring tape and a seemstress. You can get literally any dresses for the brides maids you want. That problem solved.
Cake topper, why not have children that you know make one?....A factory made cake topper is one that no one will ever remember, but if the kids get together and make it, hey, how can yo lose....? they feel good for being a part and you will love it every time you look at it.
I have no advice about Wisconsin photographers but that is the one thing I would suggest that you put the bucks out for. It is your wedding do what you want but my advice would be keep it simple and classy, don't let the "celebration" eat you up. Don't spend money you don't have, just do what you can, I always think simple and classy are more impressive than flashy and showy. Hey good luck and have a great life with the Joshster!!!!!

Congrats on your engagement.

The Grit is right, slow down. Now we don't know how much time you have, but if you are in that big of a rush - think simply.

Also, Josh sounds like he's standing to the side (probably so he doesn't get run over). One tip I suggest. Plan wedding nights to talk over big picture things (who the groomsmen will be, will you do your own vows, etc).

Make this the ONLY time you talk about the wedding. This is hard, but necessary! My husband and I just did that. We had a wedding night each month, made a romantic dinner at home, and then afterwards talked about the things I needed his input on. This way, I didn't catch him off gaurd with napkin color so he wouldn't react with the greatest enthusiasm, which would have turned into a fight.

As the wedding neared (2 months before) we planned one for each week - we cancelled some at the last minute because our planning was going so well. In that case, you have a night planned to be a couple, and not a couple that is stressing over wedding plans.

Remember, DON'T MAKE IT ALL ABOUT THE WEDDING - IT'S ABOUT THE RELATIONSHIP

I just got married 4 months ago. My advice is to keep it very simple. We had an early ceremony followed by a lunchtime reception. Ask people there with their digital cameras to take pics and email it to you. You'll save $1000 right there. Lunch reception with a host bar for receptions of 200 or less is fine. We spent $7000 and got it all back and then some. Over doing it causes a lot of headaches. Good luck.
P.S. I highly recommend Maui as a honeymoon. Be sure you go to the Old Lahaina Luau. The website is the same name.

Whoa! Slow down!

Seriously, if you don't want to be stressed out, don't try to do all of it at one time. (If you got engaged yesterday, how do you know all of these details already?!)

If you know anyone who has been married recently, get advice from them.

And remember that this is supposed to be the happiest day of your life. Someone I know who was married a year ago doesn't remember a thing from her wedding. She was so stressed out that she admits she's blank on the whole thing. And you can see it in her wedding pictures. She looks downright scared. It's sad.

So congrats. Take your time. Do a lot of asking around for tips on how to save money!

I'm sorry, I don't think I can help you out because I'm living in Asia... it's just that I want to say congratulations on the engagement! I might be a stranger, but really I'm so happy for you! Have a great wedding :)

Easiest way. Forget the planning a wedding. Go to the Justice of the Peace. :-)
Photographers: Don't know where you are from, but if anywhere around Marshfield. Try John H. Keel Takes great pictures.
