i want to give my husband something meaningful for our wedding (other than me being his wife of course) and i have no idea what to give him!! our wedding is a themed wedding, and i don't know if the gift should go with the theme or not. and i know things that he likes, but he has a lot of stuff already. and he is NOT the kind of man to wear a watch, or other related things. what kind of meaningful gifts have people given? and how many people other people gave thier spouses a wedding gift?

Many couples give each other wedding gifts. It's sort of a little "cute" thing to do, special between the bride and groom.

It's hard to make direct suggestions based on what you said in your question. I would probably suggest something personal. Something between just the 2 of you. Maybe a framed scrapbook page with small keepsakes and pictures of your favorite time together. Or maybe research where you are going on your honeymoon and get a gift card or make a home-made coupon for a store he would like to visit (like cigars or a museum) while honeymooning. Give it to him before the wedding and tell him you wanted him to have something special from your future together.

There are lots of options. You could do so many things. If buying is easier for you (because being a bride to be is very consuming) try www.redenvelope.com, or www.uncommongoods.com. Both are very fun and very swanky! Easy to find for the hard to buy for!

Gift cards are great gifts. I got a few when I got married and I was just as happy as if I had received an actual present. Plus, it's alot easier to get a gift card for someone you don't know very well.

I would definitely go with something personalized. If he is not big on jewelry, get him something that you know he would appreciate related to his hobbies or likes---golf, sports, dining, etc.

Maybe even two gifts, if you can't narrow it down to one.

Things Remembered has very nice personalized items that can be done in about an hour.

I got my husband personalized cufflinks and a watch from his alma mater. He is a diehard alumnist!

Getting gifts is a great tradition. Without knowing what his interest are its hard to help you. But if he has everything pretty much try making something for him. Or getting him something he would enjoy for your new home together.

What are his interests? My fiance gave me a french press for my birthday, because I'm a coffee-addict. As far as exchanging gifts at a wedding, I've never heard of that.

How about a nice pair of cuff links that he can wear forever and always remember the day?

Or, the always corny -- a pair of socks. So he doesn't get cold feet.

Susie is dead on. Sterling silver or gold cufflinks for him to wear on your wedding day.

Why not go get a nice watch and have it engraved on the back with the date or a short quote.

As for giving it to him from what I've seen you get it to him through a bride's maid or maid of honor, she gives it to the groom's man or best man and he gives it to your groom.
