I am specifically looking for a place that rents designer gowns. I don't want to buy on eBay, go to trunk shows, sample sales, seamstresses, etc...

I'm sure I want to rent. I'm really not that sentimental about objects and every woman I know has an old yellowing, too small wedding gown in her closet. I'm not going to be one of those! :) I have done searches but to no avail. I really just want to know if anyone knows of a place for sure that rents gowns.

Look in the phone book under bridal salons and call them.

One of the main reasons why most brides do not rent their dresses is that they require alterations and they are not a one size fits all piece of clothing. A dress can only take so much altering, especially with the fabrics used, before it starts to fall apart. So most places do not feel it is worth the hassle for that reason.

I live in Michigan and I rented my prom dress. The store was in Garden City and is gone now. Look under formal gown rentals (sometimes with tuxedo rental) in the phone book.

I do, however, find your remark about the old yellowing too small wedding gown quite a bit strange. I wonder if you will have the same feeling about your Husband when he is old!!!!!!
