I recently read the "script" of the standard ceremony that is provided at our chosen wedding location and it is VERY religious. Neither my fiance nor I attend church a lot. We aren't atheists or agnostics, we just feel that having a ceremony that talks non-stop about God and His power and being one in His eyes is a little, well, hypocritical. So, I'd like to find examples of secular ceremonies that focus on love, tenderness, kindness and are light on the religious stuff... so that I can give the minister ideas of what we are looking for.

Does anyone have any ideas where to find something like this?

I am getting married in a Catholic church and the wedding HAS TO BE at 1:00pm. But I can't get into the reception hall until at least 5:00. The wedding will probably take an hour and a half at most. So what should I have my guests do for 2 and a half hours? About half of the guests will be coming from out of town. Any Ideas for what to do during the time gap??

My future fiance and I do not want a big lavish wedding. We want something no larger than 50 people. We don't want my folks spending a lot of money. Do the grooms parents have to pay for the honeymoon or can the bride and groom pay for it, or her parents??

I am getting married in May and have a big problem. My aunt and my cousin (who is 20 yrs old) are not involved in the wedding, which is a problem because I have my other two cousins as readers and my other aunt as a singer in the wedding. The aunt and couin that are not in the wedding have not said anything about it, but it is pretty obvious that they are hurt by me since I have not included them..

So my question is, can anyone give me a job that they can do to be a part of the wedding? (preferablly not the guest book person suggestion because I already have someone for that...)

Any response or suggestion would be appreciated!!

I asked my fiance that if during our wedding if he wouldnt mind me giving him a lap dance with booty shorts on and a cleavage shirt on. He said he wouldnt mind. Should I give him one or should I wait till were alone? No criticism. Just need to know what would you do in that situation. Would you allow it, or would you rather have it alone?

We have been dating for over 2 yrs. and have decided to take our relationship to the next level and get married. We have been looking at rings and I almost fell over at how much they cost. I found a great website for zircon engagement rings set in precious metals (white gold and platnium). I love them and he says he would be embarressed if anyone found that the ring was not real. I feel we should put the money towards the purchase of a home. Am I crazy for not wanting a real diamond?

My mum thought it maybe a good idea because you might get too much of the same things if you ask for wedding gifts.

My daughter's Dad was never involved in her life until she turned 16...Now he is "mr superior". My problem is his wife! She insist on calling herself "mom" to my now 21 yr old baby girl. I got numberous emails from "the *****" telling me what a poor parent I am. I am a great Mom by any standard! My kids are spoiled rotten. Now that my daughter is getting married, her step monster is trying to push her way into all the prewedding festivities ..such as gown shopping. I have put my foot down! I just dont know how I can keep from punching her lights at during the wedding....she is demanding to sit on the front pew with me and my Husband. I was thinking more in the lines the car outside the church-lol. I have even offered to pay for the whole wedding if they would stay away...now the step monster is inquiring on "how "willing' am I to pay of this wedding" ~~I told my daughter that was none of their *&%# business. I am going to see that she has the wedding she deserves regardless

Why is it considered classier if a bride spends thousands of dollars on a designer dress? I went to davids and bought one for under a grand and I love it. I just dont see the point. After watching shows like "whose wedding is it anyway" and watching brides spend upwards of $7000 on dresses, i began to question my own taste. I dont consider myself a "Walmart shopper" or with poor taste but i just dont see the point in spending that much money on a dress that i will only wear once. Is that really tatstless of me? Does it make me less classy or elegant?
