You seem very judgmental. I think that a wedding is a wedding, and whatever makes the couple happy is fine with me.

Ghetto Weddings

I don't know that they should be called getto weddings. With the price of a wedding soaring into the thousands of dollars these days. People are beginning to scale down on weddings and using the money for other things. I really don't see a problem with that. The big wedding day is all about the pictures. I know that when I got married, it was a big church wedding and everyone was dressed to the max. A big reception with 100's in attendance. I have now been married for 33 years. I'll bet the wedding pictures haven't come out of the closet for the last 20 years or so, maybe longer. In all honesty we could have been in jeans and t-shirts and the memories would be the same. Soceity has put such a high value on dressing up and the formal occasion! What for??? One memory I also have about my wedding day was being hot and uncomfortable in my tux. A wedding is all about the celibration of the beginning of a new life together, not who can have the most lavish event that will all to soon be forgotten. As long as it is done in good taste, I don't think it matters what you wear. I don't know about the John Deer shirts??? That might be pushing the envelope!

It depends on why they're doing something different. If they're just trying to draw attention to themselves, then I'd think about leaving. If the theme means something really important, then by all means, they should do the wedding how they like.
With the wedding you described though, I do agree it sounds cheesy. I also have seen a motorcycle wedding at YouTube.

Could have been worse. This past summer in Las Vegas we saw a couple coming out of one of the wedding chapels wearing matching John Deere t shirts!

Maury had this show about this guy who wanted to apologize to his sister for starting a fight at the reception in order to steal her wishing well money; about $100

And there was another show that showed the video of the groom getting arrested by the cops who barged into the ceremony. He had warrants.

I'm not sure which of these 3 examples is worse.

That is the stupidest thing i have ever heard. That would have made better sense had it been in like Compton or something, but in South Carolina? When the hell did south carolina become ghetto town? but there is nothing you could do about it, since it already happened, other than take note that if you ever get married, dont have a shitty one like that.

You might get a kick out of this site: http://www.geocities.com/ghettofabwedding/

It's all about a ghetto wedding.

BTW, I had to go to a Harley wedding once.... Wow. That was a bad time. All leather chaps, harley t-shirts, and motorcycles.

Last Halloween, I performed a wedding where EVERYONE dressed in costume. Very interesting.
