No, that sounds like a good idea. In fact, you could start a tradition. Imagine what it would be like to have an anniversary photo for every year for 50 years. Cool, huh?

It's not tacky, but it's not really necessary to hire professionals either. I have found that the pictures I take in casual settings or out having fun mean a lot more than some professional picture stuck up on the wall or in a photo album somewhere.

Sweetheart, the look of the pictures do not count! It's the memories! You think 40 years from now you are going to say, "We should have went to that place for $3000" No! I'm sure they are beautiful! But to answer your question, No, I don't think it would be tacky to take pictures on your anniversary! It's entirely up to you.

If you dress up in your wedding gown to take the 1-year anny pictures, then that's tacky. But it's okay to get a family picture type of thing.

I agree with the posting above that said you should take it in your wedding attire! I dont think there is anything wrong with taking pictures at all and if you dont have the money right now, then by all means do wait! There is nothing written in stone saying that wedding pictures HAVE to be taken that day.
Heck- my fiance and I arent even taking our honey moon until later that year for the same reasons!
Congratulations!

I wouldn't think it to be tacky. Actually, paper is the traditional first gift. So, save some extra cash, find a nice photographer, get some pictures fo the two of you taken (if you want to wear your wedding clothes, fine. If you wear dressy clothes, that works too). Technically, pictures are on paper. I love the idea!

Dressing up in your wedding stuff for the photos would be sightly odd, but taking potrait pictures (in general) for your anniversary is a lovely idea.

When we got married...someone kept flickering the lights and most of our pictures come out dark...I was so upset...until I got numerous pictures in the mail that my extended family had taken. There were some excellent pictures! We had them enlarged and they are hanging in my living room and very one asks me "Where did you have that taken?" In fact, the picture I have on here is one of them.
We also try to have family pictures taken every 2-3 years.
Congrats on your recent married....may God Bless your home.
Keep the wonderful memories of that special day in your heart. Nothing can replace those memories!
