My boyfriend said that it's very normal for guys not to have sex for a week even if they have girlfriends. Is it true?

ROFL. This is a very general question. Sex isn't something that should be considered an activity that's on a to due list like laundry.
Men do think about sex very often every day throughout the day, any man who says otherwise is blantently lying. Now that doesn't mean men have to have sex everyday, and yes many people do only have sex once a week or alot less, and some have it alot more. I think the real question here is whether or not you two feel intimate with eachother physicaly and emothionaly. If your both comfortable with having sex once a week and all the chemistry is still there then great. I would think that you should have sex acouple times a week though, maybe busy schedules are in the way, I know after a long day at work, then school, then the gym I really wouldn't want to get it on....then again a nice bj is always nice, ok I trangress, take a deeper look into your relationship, then you'll be able to answer this question yourself.

Depends on what your boyfriend does. I know I was that way with my girlfriend when I had a full time job and she was going to school. We were just so busy that we couldn't fit it in except for once or twice a week. We would get home during the week and she would stop by and all we wanted to do was sleep. However we started comprimising on certain situations. If someone was in the mood, let the other one know. If the other person doesn't want to, that doesn't mean that you never will, just not that night.

If you are still dating and not living together - that is not normal at all. IF you are living together or married - then the sex can taper off a bit...But the avg amount of sex per week is 2 or 3 times for most couples that love each other.

Not that normal, men like sex alot from my experience and likes it anywhere from 2 to 3 times a week some more, some less. If he's not wanting to them it could be that he's too tired from work, something could be wrong with you, or it just possibly could be another woman. Check him out and see how long he waits..if he doesn't come around something is wrong.

When I was in my teens and 20s I would have sex 3 or 4 times a day when possible

Yes- it is not mandatory to do it every day. heck you give your guy a week off when you go through your cycle, so it isnt any different.
When i first started dating my fiance we did it maybe 3-5 times a day. It tapered off to once or twice and day and then to once or twice a week after the baby came. Now we try and get together at least 4 times a week!

As with us women every man is diffrent. His mood and upbringing will cause him to have his own pattern in sex. Some guys are horn dogs and others would rather wait and relish it whne they can have it.
Just depends on the guy.

It IS normal.. but it also depends on your situation. Do you see him everyday? I only see my bf 1-2 a week due to our careers.

Yes it is true. Everyone's sex drive is different. There may be reasons he does not want to have sex more frequently. Maybe it is uncomfortable for him to do it frequently.
