My nephew asked me to be an usher at his wedding. I said sure. 2 weeks later when I went to get fitted for the tux they wanted me to wear I had to pay $110.00 that I didn't expect. Is this standard? Also my niece has to put out 170.00 for her 1 time bridesmaid dress. Should'nt these things be paid by the people getting married? I'm reluctantly doing it. I mean I now have to pay plus work at the wedding. Not much enjoyment if you ask me.

I've managed to win my mum over on this subject. But considering the colour red can mean anything from love and vitality to happiness and good luck. Why are so many people shocked when I say that is my wedding dress colour? Have you seen a red wedding dress?

When you purchase a home, the home is the collateral, it can be taken away from you and the bank has their money. When you purchase a car, the same is true. But a ring can be hocked the day after you purchase it, is this true? Do you have to have collateral to finance a ring, if say, you are putting 20% -30% down?

My dad is paying for the wedding which i really appreciate but he is taking over. He has invited everyone he knows. My husband to be has hardly invited anyone. So he is only going to know maybe 5% of the reception guests. So either my dad has to cut down or he has to make more friends. Or does it really matter am i just being fussy?

Im getting married next month and my husband to be wants a rehearsal so he knows exactly what to do. Its at a hotel and not that big a wedding so I dont think it will be that complicated. I dont know exactly what he has to do. But am stressed enough without having to organise a rehearsal too. I dont think there is any need for one.

My fiance and I want an outdoor wedding but we want it up at his cousin's ranch. My parents are totally against it. But it has the best layout. It has a pond with a gazebo right in the middle of it. We are doing a beach/haiawiian style so my parents said the beach but they don't want us getting married at the beach his family goes to they want us to get married at the one my family goes too if we have it at the beach. But then again his mom already says that she feels left out of the wedding plans because he doesn't want to talk about it right now since its in 2008. What should I do?

I mean, why is the idea of a pink, burgandy, violet, or even black gown for a wedding met with such disgust? Have we really been so brainwashed by bridal magazines and tradition? Has the idea of not wearing white becomes so obsolete?
I hate white on me, and hate the idea of a "good moral virgin" girl even MORE (me...a virgin....ha!), as it rings as somewhat sexist, and especially hate the response that "well, white goes best in a church!"
....who said I was getting married in a church?

Anyone else here friendly to the idea of tying the knot with flying colors - literally?

I am getting married in 2 weeks and In my wedding program I have added in a memorial of our loved ones who are now deceased. I am going to put a vase of roses at the front of the church in memory of them. I am not sure what color of roses to buy. I always thought that the color meant something. Does it?
