I just got married a month ago and we drove to San Francisco. We stayed at the Wharfs Inn. It is right on the Fisherman's Wharf @ pier 39. There is a lot of stuff to do there. For $50.00 each you can get a City Pass. It covers a Cruise of the Bay, the Aquarium under the Bay, Asian Art Museum, Modern Art Museum, Exploritoriam, Gheridilli Square, Bodin Bread factory, and free bus and transit rides for 9 days. We stayed for 4 days, went to all these places and the Ripley's Believe It Or Not, and wax museum for less than $500.00.

If you end up going you have to go to Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. for dinner, have the cajun shrimp and a Guiness. It's really good food and a lot of fun!

An all-inclusive resort along the Mayan Riviera in Mexico! The reasons are: 1) the U.S. dollar goes further in Mexico; 2) some of the resorts are more reasonably priced than others; 3) accommodations include room, meals, snacks, drinks, activities and entertainment; In fact, you can go for days without even carrying a wallet; 4) you will meet other honeymooners from the U.S. and other countries; 5) a trip to the shores of the Caribbean is very romantic and unforgettable. Check it out with a travel agent. If your budget is too tight for this part of Mexico, I'd suggest Las Vegas, central Florida or Williamsburg, VA.

You don't say where you are, so all I can really tell you is for our honeymoon, my husband and I went to a bed & breakfast for 3 days in the local mountains. It was very romantic. We only spent about $5-600 on it, that was including food and going horseback riding and a couple other things. Hope this helps!

South Beach - depending on what time of year it is, you can get a hotel room for about $100 per night. Although there are hotels with private beaches, there is also plenty of public beach space. There are people who rent out the beach chairs on the beach for about $10 per day. Many of the hotels also offer free shuttle service to/from MIA. Try southbeachgroup.com.

I don't now where you live? But if you live in a big city. Just go to a nice hotel for a few days. Spend your days making love in the room and ordering room service. Maybe you could get a room with a jacuzzi tub, that is always fun.

Try something all-inclusive. If you have, say, $1000, you might be able to afford an all-inclusive resort in Mexico or a short cruise.

There's always the Lake of the Ozarks, or a large city as well.

I agree with Gatlinburg, TN. That is where we went. We stayed at the Preserve Resort in the finest cabins I've ever seen. They were not expensive and they have everything you need there.

You can check them out at www.thepreserveresort.com
or you can just search for gatlinburg tn cabins. There are tons!

Go rent a cabin somewhere in the moutains if it's within driving distance. Stay there a week. We're going to New England for a week for under $1K.

Some great ideas would be Gatlinburg, TN or Niagra Falls. I live in Ohio and my husband and I went to Gatlinburg. It was peaceful and quiet, but there were still great restaurants, shopping and entertainment for when we left the hotel room. :-)
