My engagement was recently broken off. I (the bride) paid for everything - including my own engagement ring. Should have been a clue right? Anyway, I would like to file a small claims suit against my ex for the lost deposits and other wedding related expenses on the grounds that being engaged is a contract to marry. He broke the engagement by ending the relationship and therefore should be responsible for the financial loss. I've been reading, and I'm not sure if this is legally binding. Has anyone had any experience with this?

I'm the groom's brother, best man, and have a fairly high expectation of what i should get, yet, i'm not trying to kill my wallet. Hoping 200 covers it, but expect to pay more. Any thoughts? thanks!

Does it still make you smile and remember your wedding day? And if your wedding has yet to happen what would you like your song to be and why?

I've got 4 girls involved. I thought they would be the perfect 4. 2 of them are less than excited and 1 actually acts like it's a chore. I've asked them to help me pick out their dresses. No one wants to - they all say they will wear whatever I pick out for them. They don't have time to look with me. My best friend lives in another state and is being more helpful than the other two here. The other one is my 16 year old daughter. I wonder....how terrible would it be to tell them to take a long walk? :) Only perhaps in a nice way?

Although I am close with my fiances immediate family, as he is to mine, our families are complete oposites. My family is "snooty" whereas his family is "redneck". Most have never met each other accept for our parents. We dont want one side of the reception to be his family and the other mine, however, we are uncertain as how to blend them and prevent stares and rude comments.
Please help!

I have drawn a ring that I want custom made and I am not sure whether the one can function both as an engagement and wedding ring. It costs me more for the one, but this is the very ring I want to give her, and I am sure she will love it.

a friend - a guy - is getting married. His girlfriend and I became friends but not super close. she has has me to be a bridesmaid at her wedding. I agreed but not sure why really. the wedding would require me to travel across the country plus pay for dresses (two of them as there are two ceremonies). I am doubting that I want to do this financially plus it would mean at least one day out of work

I'm a bridesmaid in an upcomming wedding. The matron of honor is not attending the bachelorette party. Should we still ask her to pitch in money for the party? (We split the bridal shower between all of the brides maids and planned on doing the same with the bachelorette party until the matron of honor announced that should would not be attending.)

My husband's cousin and his wife will be renewing their vows. My question is what do you get someone that already has everything?

My boyfriend and I have decided to get married. He is Catholic and I am Lutheran. I do not agree with the Catholic church at all. He wants to have at least a Catholic blessing. I am a little nervous about doing anything Catholic because I have read about "having to promise to raise all children Catholic" and I don't want to do that. We went to talk with the Pastor at my Lutheran church and he said something about going somewhere in the middle.. he mentioned the Episcopal church. I was wondering about that church/religion. And also, can a blessing be done BEFORE a wedding? I told my boyfriend that I would do the blessing before a real wedding and then we can look into other churches later. (Non-denominational, etc..)

Does anybody have any thoughts or ideas? Thanks. (I am 32 and my boyfriend is 31. We have been together for 9 years. We don't have any children now).

I was asked a question the other day about my best friend's wedding registry and how expensive the stuff listed on it is, anyways some person gave me some ideas about affordable gifts, and blah blah blah, but then they said I should never give the gift to the Bridge or Groom at the wedding or reception. Apprantly it's a big no no, and I must mail it. Is this true?
