Weddings - August 2006

I am getting married in March and got engaged in January of last year. I asked my best friend to be my maid of honor. We have gone to school together all of our lives, and it really wasn't even something I would have to think about. She had also got engaged around the same time and asked me to be her maid of honor about a month before I had asked her. She is getting married in May 07'. I of course said yes. From this past January until now we had planned togteher looked for dresses together and everything MOH 's do.

Just recently when we were looking for my bridesmaid dresses she told me that she wanted to know if it was okay if she had one of her friends from college be her MOH...I was a little hurt that she changed her mind but I was okay with it. Later that day she then told me that she and her fiance decided to only include their "college" friends in the wedding and wanted to let me know that I wasn't going to be in her wedding party.

My bf asked the groom if they are registered anywhere and they are but my bf can't remember now. Since they have been living together for quite some time now I think money would be best. How much is appropriate. I barely know them and my bf works with the groom.

I need to marry a good friend of mine from Japan. I, in this case, have nothing to lose and everything to gain. She gets to stay here and carry out a full scholarship to Chapman University in Orange County, California. Her parents are also very wealthy. Litterally owning I believe 7 different homes through out the world.

If He is some ordinary guy who isn't a minister, and has no experience in that, is he allowed to do that. Does it makes the marriage illegal.

Maybe the guy was a minister, but he looked so young, casual and unprofessional oh, and nervous.

I already asked this question but I kind of changed the topic to something else and didn't got the answers I wanted.

Like yesterday, the scripture reader was like some friend from college, neighbor or cousin from the other family when is suppose to be a priest, lawyer etc.

And when finally the guy said "You are now husband and wife, and they kissed". The groom suddenly grabbed his cell phone and went outside with a "gansta" attitude.

And after that, the Bride and the Groom were like hiding in the corner for hours, and people were wondering where they were.

I was all the time thinking WTF?, OMG, OMG. OK.

It was the most disorganized and craziest weeding I have ever been.

I still wish the best for her. They look happy and I am glad. I have a crazy family.

My girlfriend and I are pretty close to being engaged. Her grandmother left her own engagement ring for her. My girlfriend really wants that ring (just with a new setting)? My mom does not think this is a good idea and I should buy a ring on my own (I can definately afford to do that). My girlfriend seems to want this ring from her grandmother. We are having an outdoor summer wedding in the evening next year, probably in the country on a farm (not with cows and pigs and chickens, that's just what we in the South call big pieces of open land in the country). lol

I am up to hearing ANY suggestions you have. Who knows, I might go with something I never would have thought of!

If it helps, we are wanting a somewhat country feel (not sunflowers and gingham check tablecloths), but maybe mason jars with candles in them. Something more old-timey and antiquey (is that a word?) lol

I love summery colors! My favorite color is BLUE and I know that I want some things to be blue. Maybe several different shades and tones of blue?

I REALLY like AQUA BLUE and TURQUOISE, colors that remind me of the ocean and beach, my favorite place in the world.
