My Fiance is a pastor's child. I love him dearly, His dad is thinking about taking a pastorship in Idaho, We would be 1400 miles away from each other. What do you think I should do? Should I marry him before he moves or what, please give honest opinions.
Ok to make this easier. Him and i are in our early 20's we have been together since highschool. I am deeply in love with him and I would do about anything for him. The major problem is we don't want to live together before we are married, I also have a good job and college to go to so that I can get the degree that I want.

I am wanting to have a modernized 1940's/1950's wedding. I already have a french net birdcage veil. I was also thinking of having myself and the two junior bridesmaids carrying a parasol. What else can I do?

I always wondered why a couple had to get blood tests before they had to get married. In some states, it's law. I wondered if there are any states it's not law, and if so, why? Again, I understand that it's not necessarily (sp?) a bad idea to see if either the bride or groom have an STD or something, but, still. Shouldn't that remain private between the two of them? This is a random question, but since I'm the M.O.H. in a friend's wedding, it's a good question to ask, at least I think.

Let's go back 2 to 3 years. My then b/f invited me to a local hockey game. After the game ended, my b/f had introduced me to some of his co-workers + boss. I've never met his boss before, but for some reason she never glanced at my direction while she spoke in conversation. At that time, I thought it was just my hallucinations. When my b/f invited me to a weekend getaway to Tahoe a year later I decided to re-introduce myself to his boss. I said my name as I smiled and stuck my hand out for a return shake except my b/f's boss literally "ignored" me. Now I was thinking, "Maybe it's not me afterall." Then, I found out that my b/f's boss was trying to find way to break my b/f and I apart while she was trying to set up one of her best friends with my b/f. Now, that my b/f became my husband, his boss still won't acknowledge me or when she is talking in a group at a party she won't glance in my direction. She recently got proposed and her Wedding will be next year in 2007.

I know two couples in this situation who recently tied the knot and did not have a celebration. One couple is in their mid 20's ( the woman is a former coworker) and the other couple is in their late 30's(this woman stood up in my wedding). Household items are not needed.
I am looking to give a nice gift around $30-50 as no one is expecting a gift. I am trying to pick something nice and all I could think of is a fancy picnic basket or something along those lines.

Any ideas?

Will she ruin her marriage? Why? What could happen?
If a woman constantly acts fake around her husband and family members. i.e pretend to always be ill, talking behind everyones back, lying to others in order to gain money or use others( husband, family members), telling her entire family( parents, grand parents, brothers , sisters, uncle , aunts, cousins, far away cousins) and friends every single thing that happened in the home. Being rude and mean to mother in law( who recently lost her father and hubby) for no reason..screaming at her. Mocking her deceased husband, mocking her family, insulting her family members.Critisizing everyone around her including her husband who is very kind, caring and helpful. The woman has a child with her man and she

The weird part is there is no problem. The husband and in laws are welcomed her with open arms. Helping with every little thing she needed. Buying her gifts and being friendly with her family..even helping her family out.

I'm chinese and in my culture it is traditional for the groom's side of the family to pay for the wedding. But in western countries, the bride's side pay for the wedding. The reason for the chinese thinking of the groom being responsible for the wedding is to show that he is capable (financially) of supporting and taking care of his wife and future children, but why does the bride's family pay in western cultures?

What's the best way to go about making a wedding cake when the wife prefers vanilla and the husband prefers chocolate?

I'm making a small one for my best friends friends who are renuing their wedding vows. It is going to be a surprise.

I was thinking of doing a small three tier cake but making it to where one side was chocolate and the other vanilla. I am also thinking of doing a butter cream frosting but it might be too rich.
I would like to do two small 2 tier wedding cakes but I on a budget.

Any suggetions?

If you're going to a destination wedding, or if in other words, the wedding requires you to travel a significant distance by air, what are you expected to give as a gift? I was always told that if you're spending/taking the time to get to the wedding, then you're not really expected to give as generous of a gift if it were a local wedding.

I am attending a wedding later today for the daughter of my boss who is getting married for the second time. I attended the first wedding and gave her a generous cash gift. What is the etiquette for giving a gift this time around? Do I need to give her as much as I did last time? What have you given as a second wedding gift?
