Gee, there are so many factors in planning a wedding, I can't even begin to start. How many guests? Will you have dinner? What venue are you using? Will you serve alcohol, if so, full bar or beer and wine, or cash bar? How formal of an event will it be? Do you want a designer couture gown? And on and on it goes......
Decide how much you have to spend on a wedding, I've seen beautiful weddings done for $5,000. Prioritize your spending, decide what's the most important and spend the $$ there. Best of luck to you!
If you haven't checked out www.theknot.com and www.weddingchannel.com, do so! There's lots of good ideas and tips on both sites

It entirely depends on how you will celebrate it. Will it be a big wedding or a small one? What kind of restaurant you chose? What dress are you planning to buy? How many invitations will you send out? There are so many unknown factors so I am unable to give you an estimate. Perhaps you could provide more details...

I am in VA too in the Hampton Roads area and I am having my wedding next year at the Chrysler Museum of Art ($4,500 for location alone). My expenses minus food and flowers (my cousins are caterers and my grandmother is a florist - Thank GOD!) is about $8,000. If you are up North, times my amount by 3.

That depends on how elaborate you want to get. I went with a more simple wedding and it cost me a few thousand dollars 15 years ago. It was nice and it was especially nice to have extra money to start our lives together. We had friends who went for an over-the-top wedding around the same time and they started their married lives highly stressed over money. We're still married and they aren't so we certainly got a good value for our dollar. lol.

Less than $100.00. Go downtown to City hall and get a license, set a date. Come back and get married by the justice of the peace (a judge) and there you have it. You are married, and Bob's your uncle!

It all depends on how much you want to spend. If you want the best flowers, designer dress, etc. then your budget is probably pretty accurate. Although, it's possible to have a wedding for much, much less.

That should more than cover it. I think the average now is $10,000, but is it worth that?? Why not a quiet little reception and spend more on your honeymoon. It is about the both of you right??
