In the ancient times it was believed that, there is a vital blood vessel that runs from the ring finger on the left hand directly to the heart! Since the heart is long believed to be a symbol of love, this finger was named as the ring finger. It is therefore apparent that a ring worn on the ring finger of the left hand, is worn with some matrimonial intentions or significance. A promise ring worn with a
commitment to marriage, an engagement ring and a wedding ring are some examples of such rings. As medical sciences advanced, it was proved that the belief of a vital blood vessel connecting the left hand ring finger and the heart was wrong! However, the finger continues to be referred to as the ring finger until today.

In ancient times, they believed there was a vein in your left hand third finger going straight to your heart. However, not everyone nowadays wears their ring there, I know of some friends who can't wear a wedding ring for work reasons and wear it as a pendant instead. I've just been reading about this on a wedding site while I was trying to find something else out. It's apparently because the Romans thought that the blood from this finger goes straight to the heart.

"The left has isn't nearer to the middle than the astounding hand." not from the exterior view it isnt yet technically it is nearer for the reason that your heart is placed nearer to the left factor. it is the reason the left hand has grow to be traditionally the hand for the marriage band and all are astounding related to the finger.
