weddings are expensive! I am planning my own and I'm looking at 8,000. If you have some time, start a savings account and start planning! great helpful web site www.theknot.com account set up is free and it has a to do list and step-by-step how to do it. First thing I would do is set a spending limit on the wedding dress. This dress will be the most expensive item in your wedding if you don't. you can get a great deal at Davids bridal online. anywhere from 100.00 to 599.00. Also, cut corners where ever possible. You can still have a beautiful wedding as long as you decorate. borrow chairs and tables from a local church, instead of renting them. dress up the chairs and tables with your color scheme fabrics. (clearance, clearance, CLEARANCE!) also find out who's helping out, if you two are on your own, then don't cater, but BBQ. Just some ideas and milestones I've already managed to over come. hope it helps :)

Just had one and it ran around $10,000.00. Price is up to you, friends and family can help you out and perform any of the activities you would normally hire like food preparation, flower arrangements etc. Mine should never be a limiting factor in having a memorable wedding. When we were getting ready for my daughters wedding I realized that most of what we were doing were for the guest and we got together as a group and shifted our thinking to bride and groom. The wedding was wonderful. My niece had hers for around a thousand dollars, outside on a river bank it was awesome. Use your imagination. Where did you two meet? Where is your favorite place to go together? What do each of you love to do together? Ask these questions and you can find a great place and way to hold the wedding. If money is no object then just go for it but remember this is about you and your lady. Good luck.

You are looking at the minimum of around $4000 - $5000 for a decent wedding now days. Most would be going for catering for 100 people.
Best of Luck

you need to figure out what you can do for yourselves! like go to www.wilton,com and print your own invitations, talk to friends and family and get them to cook for the reception, get a really good friend to help out and act as the wedding coordinator, borrow tables and chairs and stuff from a church, we did my sons wedding a few years ago and it cost $500, would have been over $6000 if we had hired out all the things we got for free
