Marriage & Divorce - 14 August 2006

My ex husband is remarried. We've been divorced for 5 years. About once a week he will call, and you can tell he calls to talk to ME, since he'll call while the kids are in school and he knows that. He never has much to say, he just continues to try to make conversation. He was abusive to me in the marriage. Why do you think he makes calls to me like this, even after 5 years, and even though he's remarried. He's caused chaos all around him and he's not the one affected by it. What do you think is going through his mind when he calls me like this just to chat?

Since the beginning of our realtionship, my husband has been a chat-a-holic. He was alwasy online chatting with other women. I had confronted him numerous times for this behavior and he has always said he is going to stop, needless to say, it always happens again. He puts the blame on me, stating something like "I am not giving him enough attention, or he is a man that has needs." There have been time where he has had conversations on his cell phone with these women, talking sexually to them and telling them that he wants to meet them. He always tells me he doesnt mean what he says to them, its just talk. After six times of being caught and saying he wouldnt do it again, I have caught him a seventh time, this time he says its because our sex life is lacking. He has said, again, that it wont happen again, but how do I know that? What should I do?

My long-time live-in girlfriend has a real problem with intimacy. She doesn't like to kiss and hug. She pretty much refuses to french kiss me. Our sex life is stagnent we are only having sex about once a week, sometimes less. I love her and I know she loves me but I feel like this behavior is making me feel distant, and sometimes I think about finding another girl who will show me more affection and who is more into sex. Is this normal? Should I stick it out, or find someone else?

My husband is in the military and we are about to start a long distance marriage. We will be able to see one another on the weekends and we will be living about 4 hours (one way) apart from one another during the week. We have two dogs who will be staying with me. We've been married for about 8 months and together for almost 2 1/2 years. He is my best friend and our relationship and marriage is truly everything I could have hoped for and more.

We both bought laptops and webcams so we can 'see' one another pretty much whenever we want. But I'm sure that it will still be stressful. However, we are optimistic and believe our relationship is strong enough to sustain the time that we spend apart.

I guess what I want to know is how other people have coped with this and what are some ways that you can keep the marriage relevant and still maintain good communication with one another.

Any tips would be great. THANKS!

My husband has expressed the desire to have a traditional wife (ie: cook, clean, take care of the kids, do the laundry, etc.) I work a full time job and we have an 11-month old son that is very active. Sometimes I am too worn out to complete some of these tasks on a daily basis. This upsets him to the point where we argue. I try to explain that I am tired from working, but he doesn't view my job as being something to be tired from. (I make doctors appointments for patients over the phone) Is he being unfair or am I being lazy?

I know the marriage laws in England were updated in the 1940's to allow first cousins to marry but I can't find definitive proof that Jersey law did the same.

I'm a free-lance therapist that have come across guys who are very secretive to their wives when they want to have a massage by other women. First thing first, I'm single, very ordinary and don't dress skimpily. These guys always asked me things like if my oil had any scent and if I provide them with shower facilities so that they could wash up immediately after the massage. Come on, I'm certified. I don't do 'special services' so why these men just don't want their spouses to know? There's obviously lack of trust between couples. Married men tend to have lost most integrity here. I know some married women also do things behind their husbands but fact is there rare more men doing than women. I'm not a sexist. I know I can just cater to females only but ladies prefer going to nig spas for more comfort. No wonder divorce rates in Singapore and other parts of the world are on the rise. Sigh...

I work two jobs at the moment to help pay off my bills and prepare for the future. She works one job and only four days out of the week. Now when she is at home she does nothing but watch t.v. and sleep. we don't have kids and we only live in a one bedroom apartment. I cook when i can and clean if i have free time. the problem is that when i do get free time she wants me to take her out because she's been cooped up all day in our depressing apartment. So i do...and nothing gets done. I just want to know what should i do...i feel if it doesn't get resolved soon this marriage will never be.

Then he went ahead grab my hand and pull me against him he try to kiss me the start to touch my breast. Then I told him stop that he need to give me the respect that I deserved. Then as well I told him that he had a girlfriend that has trust on him. As well he got very mad you could see it in the reflection on his face.

This is the third time I've found him doing this. I no longer feel trust or love towards him because of his behaviour. I've confronted him before he could follow through with any of his encounters but do I actually need to have proof of follow through? Or are his personal ads and chats about meeting for encounters grounds for divorce?

He is currently setting something up. Do I wait and take the baby and our suitcases to say goodbye when they meet? He needs a serious wake up call about how serious this is.

Don't get me wrong he has the right to behave how he wants, but this isn't what I signed up for. He broke our agreement and it's not what I wanted for my life. We each deserve to be happy.

The problem is that we have very different schedules. I work from 5am to 1pm, then go to college from 3pm to 10pm. She works 9am-5pm. Friday after work I tend to sleep. On the weekends i'm usually busy with homework and projects. Our sex life left awhile ago and we hardly speak to each other, as if we were roomates. Is there any way to get in touch with each other? Also, I feel as if we are drifting apart from each other.
