I lost my Dad to cancer in November 2005. I find that I love hearing cherished memories others have of their own fathers -- random moments, anecdotes from their childhood. It helps me remember things about my Dad.

I'm now starting second year in college... and thinking back - My father has such a terrible view of me - I come from a semi-liberal non-practicing muslim family that still holds up some of the old fasioned values (although very liberal by comparison to others).

My Dad always seemed to think I'm stupid - and he makes it known - It never really bothered me...

When I was in early High School he caught some Porn on my computer (yes... I'm sorry - teenage boy - guilty) and ever since then it seems that he thinks I'm a dirty child molestor or something...

he even keeps me out of the room when my female cousins come over, and he was suspicious when he came and saw a camcorder at my efficiency (which I swear I was not using for anything improper - i mean... lots of people own camcorders).

I keep thinking back to childhood - early childhood was nice, and he was my hero - things started to go downhill as I got older - we used to fight so much - whenever I see him we still do

- thoughts

My aunt is only 40 and has 2 very young kids that love her deeply and it breaks my heart when they ask "why is mommy at the hospotal". She has cancer all over her body and in her brain, and doesnt have much longer to live. Everyone is praying a lot and tried everything to help her, but it seems to be getting worse. I feel so bad for her kids not being able to grow up with their mom like most others. Why isnt anything working, like praying? I cant even say goodbye because she lives across the country and cant even move or talk. Its so hard dealing with this and watching my family, and her kids suffer. Please give me any type of advice that will help me make more sense of this situation and how to deal with death and my family. I have never lost anyone so close before.

It really drives me to daunting INSANITY! & I can't keep a man because she sleeps with every boyfriend I get. Now who's the REAL whore?

I am 21 years old and my parents still treat me like I am a kid. Is there anyway that I can get them to treat me differently? I have a steady job and I go to college, I take care of myself, but they will not let me move out. They are old fashioned and want me to stay at home until I am married!!!!!! They still ground me from my car because they won't let me buy it from them. I don't want to move out because they will dis-own me they say, but I can't be held hostage here my entire life. Any advice?

Parents love you. Why not just accept what they are doing, or not doing, and know that it's for a good reason? They are looking out for you. Trust them.

Okay so yesterday I was out in my backyard by my pool. My twin sister (13) as well as me (13) and my cousin (14). We were swimming, then we decided to get out. My sis pushed me for some reason and I accidently hit him in his private area! He got hard and we laughed thinking it was funny. Then my sister took it a little bit too far and asked him to show us. He did and I thought it was gross.

Later that night I was going to sleep, in one room. Across the hall was my sis and my cousin in another room. My parents room is downstairs. I was woken up by my sister and cousin nudging me. My sister whispered me that we were going to try something new. sex.... I didnt like the idea, but my cousin did and so did she. They started from there and of course I joined in. blah blah. I kinda liked it and so did they. I think they want this more : O. What should I do? Or say?

My fiance has an older sister. He isn't extremely close with her. She lives in same town, and has just moved to a new house - a big one. She asked my fiance (on his day off) to help unpack etc. Then his sister's husband starting going on about how much the new house has cost them and therefore how broke they are! Everytime we see them they have no money etc etc. But, hey, they've just brought a brand new BMW and an old one to pull their caravan! Its nice but I dont (and my fiance doesn't) understand why they moan so much in front of everyone. Its really boring! Plus, they've just had their second child, so they should be happy? ANyway, my fiance had enough and told his sister's husband to 'Give it a break, you're boring!' - As anyone in a 'family' should be able to right? He has taken round flowers, card and wine. His sister said "Don't speak to him like that, take you flowers and go!" Then she mumbles "I've had it with him!" I thought she was rude. What are your comments on this?

I have been caring for my 7yr old daughter for almost 2 years with minimal help from her mother. There was a time where she didn't see her mother for weeks at a time.(per her mother).
My daughter is living with me and sees her mother more in the recent year since she has settled down and had another 2 kids with her boyfriend. Now that they are married she has insisted that she wants to be with her daughter more and I can have her on weekends.I don't think that it's fair that she can assume none of the responsibility of taking care or providing for my daughter for these last couple of years, and now when its convenient for her she wants her back. Things were hard for me to when we broke up but I still handled my responsibility. she has not pitched in at all for her school clothes, or expenses and now wants to make demands. What can I do. I don't want to keep her from her mom, so at most I would like joint custody. What are my chances.

Ever since I took a trip to Six Flags, and read in the car, I have realized that I get car sick or motion sickness easily. What can I do to ease the pain while on the boat? What are the chances of my getting seasick? What kind of pills should I take to ease the pain? Thank you so much in advance.

Our kids 10,11,12yrs. Other kids are 23, 21, 20-girls by one woman & 14-boy by another. All of this was B4 we met. I found out by his mom 3dys B4 wedding. DEVASTATED. He has no relationship w/any of them. Never did. Since we married I demanded blood tests, he claimed they weren't his. All tests came back yes and he has been paying childsupport since. My kids do not know. Should we tell them? Our daughter thinks she is the only girl, but there are three daughters of his out there. Our oldest son thinks he is the first born and named after my husband. Thing is, I found out the 14yr boy is named after my husband also. I feel this complicates things more. I am carrying this in order to protect my kids from heartache. I keep them away from his family so they will not find out. I think of this and often times HATE my husband but am starting to hate myself for choosing to marry him and put future kids in the middle of it. He's an excellent father/husband, there's just this one thing. HELP!!!!

My father highly pisses me off, he was never a dad, has other kids outside of marriage that i never knew about for awhile, and is selfish. He doesn't like to pay bills.

All throughout my academics, he did not support me not once. He offered not one dime to help with school tuition. In fact, he doesn't take care of any of his other kids. My mom has gone through hell, and I don't know why she continues to stay with this clown.

I get so enraged i conceive thoughts of premeditated murder with a firearm or taking a heavy object and making it one with his head. I sometimes can't help it. Plus, he's very close-minded to see the errors of his ways. All the pain he has caused me and my mom brings me to conceiving such thoughts of homicide.

my adult daughter & son live at home w/me and got into an altercation (physical). My daughter called the police and placed a restraining order on him which now he had to move from my home and I feel bad because he is homeless. I believe he attacked her physically first and she retalliated to protect herself. He asks to come take showers and says he sleeps wherever he can find a place. He is 21 and never been away from home and is having trouble finding employment so I give him some money for food. Am I wrong? to help him, and should I ask her to cancell the order?

She does havea boyfriend of two years now. He does not like us and he believes everything my daughter tells him. What do you think we should do about our kids?
