ok my dad was at europe for a buisness trip and while he was there he went to germany where my great uncle faught in the war with hitler and my dad told me that he was only 17 when he got shot and died and he wanted to fight so much that he lied he was 18 and i started tearing up is that normal

your uncle lied about his age to join the war? actually, it was quite common. or are you asking if your tearing up is normal? very normal. it was a sad time and i think it's good that you understand the fate of many men and boys who fought for our country.

Yes. During WWII many young men would lie about their age to fight for our great country. My father did. He was 16.

it sounds normal

wars are bad and sad things happen in them

I had great uncles fighting , since they were drafted, on both sides of that war
