I'm going on a boat tomorrow with 3 of my friends, and 1 of my friends' family. Ever since I took a trip to Six Flags, and read in the car, I have realized that I get car sick or motion sickness easily. What can I do to ease the pain while on the boat? What are the chances of my getting seasick? What kind of pills should I take to ease the pain? Thank you so much in advance.

Dramamine. Over the counter, any Walmart or drugstore. Get the LESS drowsy formula. It works great, you only have to take 1 (for a 24 hour period) the only drawback is it does make you drowsy. They came out with the LESS drowsy formula, which is better than the original, but will still make you a little tired. Maybe you won't get sea sick this time. I have been on boats many times but only got sea sick once. Also, make sure you eat before going on the boat. If you can't, even if you feel sick eating something will help. Good luck & have FUN!

Hey nice to meet you im "The Queen of Motion Sickness" (ive had it since i could cry) and what i do is when i feel a bit quizzie i just look at the distence (like far away trees or the horizon) and i drink Gingerale ( the ginger helps you from getting sea sick and + you can find over the counter drugs for it the stuff i take is called "Gavel" but i forgot what it was called in the states sorry :( but there r plenty of motion sickness pills out there. and be sure dont drink ALOT of water i find it sickining cuz like u feel all blah when u drink water so just be sure to drink water(to keep hydrated in the sun) but little quanitys at a time.

Dont forget to ask your mom to go buy u some medicine.

P.S. have fun on the boat trip !

well stare at the horizon and dont think about it. if you do, then you will get sick. i went for a four hour drive and i thought i was going to get sick. but i didnt. have a small snack before you get moving. that will help. sit in the middle of the boat. it has the least movement. go to the deck, if you feel sea sick. sit foward. dont sit back. bring a bag with you just in case. i dont know what kind of pills to take. but if you dont think about it, then you prolly will be fine.

One of the obvious answers is to not do what gives you motion sickness (e.g. not reading it the car etc.). Another age old secret is to drink ginger ale or some other very carbonated soda (plain old seltzer water does do the trick though) the soda will cause your to burp and ease it the wooziness

Take Benadryl, it works wonders for motion sickness and nausea, is cheaper than Dramamine and has the same basic ingredient an antihistamine.

When I went a cruise I took a motion sickness pill. Your best bet would have been to talk to your doctor's office and ask if they could recommend any thing. Your next best thing is to go to the local pharmacy at the nearest store and ask them.

I get motion sickness very easily as well, and I've learned that if I look directly straight ahead, it really helps. It has something to do with keeping your equilibrium balanced. Hope this helps!

Ginger is for motion sickness. I used to drink ginger ale. You can use dramamine if you want a pill.
