My fiance has an older sister. He isn't extremely close with her. She lives in same town, and has just moved to a new house - a big one. She asked my fiance (on his day off) to help unpack etc. Then his sister's husband starting going on about how much the new house has cost them and therefore how broke they are! Everytime we see them they have no money etc etc. But, hey, they've just brought a brand new BMW and an old one to pull their caravan! Its nice but I dont (and my fiance doesn't) understand why they moan so much in front of everyone. Its really boring! Plus, they've just had their second child, so they should be happy? ANyway, my fiance had enough and told his sister's husband to 'Give it a break, you're boring!' - As anyone in a 'family' should be able to right? He has taken round flowers, card and wine. His sister said "Don't speak to him like that, take you flowers and go!" Then she mumbles "I've had it with him!" I thought she was rude. What are your comments on this?

He hasn't heard from her since, now his mom has asked him to make up, but my fiance is very hurt. Plus, they have had a few run ins in the past, anout a bike we borrowed and they kept on asking it back as they didn't trust us! Plus, they never make conversation with us at his parent's house, we speak to my fiance's step siblings more!!!! Oh families, eh?

Some rich people are like that you know the more they have the more they are afraid of other people trying pity on them to get to their money etc etc and also to borrow from them......What i notice is that people who have just recently come to have money which they have not before tend to act like that. It is very offensive.....I know

Your fiance could of worded it a bit different but he didn't so if your fiance doesn't have a problem with his sister not talking to him Oh well Life will go on now without sister/bro-in-law complaining all the time Be Happy rejoice that your not hearing it any more and when they do start talking Just simple ask if they not Talk about their personal Problems there's other things to talk about

If they are so broke who put them in that position? They did, seeking status symbols and forgetting about family. Think they owe your fiance an apology, just leave them alone till they come to their senses they appear to think they are above everyone else. Sad case but have seen it before.

First, I think it was immature of both the BIL and your fiance to say such things to each other. Now, it sounds like this is a family who loves drama, and if that's the case, you need to run fast, unless you are contributing to this. Families who fight are dysfunctional and petty. Get over it and be the big person...apologize again. Honestly, this sounds like a high school drama.

When they have all this cool stuff.
They just want attention.

Oh well tell them to stop buyin stuff they can't afford. If you buy something and your completley broke afterwards.....you couldn't afford it.
