I was up all night last night thinking about what would happen if i was to die. I am a single mom and have a daughter who is 6. I split from her Father when she was 18 months and since then he hasn't bothered to visit her or pay anything to her upkeep. He still knows where i live as i have regular contact with his other children from his previous marriage with whom he speaks to on the phone. My concern is that if anything were to happen to me, my daughter would have to go and live with her father, a total stranger who has shown no intrest in her in the past 5 years. I have no issues with him having contact with her, god knows i've tried to make this happen, but i cant imagine what it would be like for my daughter to have to live with somone she does not know. We have both been living with my parents since the seperation and she adores them and visa versa, is there anything i could put in place to make them her gaurdians if i were to die, i believe it would be in her best intrests.

My daughter is 9 years old today. Her father has not seen her for over 4 1/2 years. He has not requested to or tried to. His mother sends gifts at Christmas and her birthday. The gifts seem inappropriate. A t-shirt that said "Wanted Daddy's Littler Girl" A cd my Tim McGraw with the song My Little Girl. She sends them and puts his name on them. His mother has not seen her in almost 5 years. Each time a gift comes it emotional hurts my daughter and it takes about a months to get her past it. Can someone please tell me how I can help my daughter accept who her father is and that him and his family will probably never visit and keep her emotionally together. It hurts me to see her this way. See also has not talked to her father via the phone in over 3 years.

... see my twin sister and I used to be really close, but one day I found out that she slept with my boyfriend... I felt like I wanted to die... I asked her to stop seeing him and she didn't and the idiot of my ex boy friend at the same time kept crying for me to forgive him.... It's been awhile since that happend, but I haven't been able to forgive her and I guess it's because she doesn't care about me... or at least thats what I feel... I had a relationship after that happen, but when she found out that I was watching her... she said that "it was to bad I was still in love of the idiot, because I still thought about it"... she doesn't get that it was the fact that she hurt me... I don't know what to do, because as my twin we had a cool realtionship and that bond that we used to have is not the same... I don't want to hate my sister, but I don't know how to leave this in the past... what should I do?

So me and my girl have been together for 6 years. We have a six year old girl.

I've quit my job about 5 months ago. My girl works as a waitress and makes about 150$ a day.

I've been staying home and taking care of our child, and when she goes to school I nap and clean house.

When she's out of school I take walks with her, do homework, play, feed her and bath her and all that good stuff.

Am I a looser. Should I put her in day care and go find myself a job?

by the way, our finances are adiquate

My father and I haven't been on the best terms for years now, and now that I'm in college, it's getting worse. My father makes a big deal out of every "small" thing I do and can't get over the fact that I'm not perfect or living up to his high standards. For instance, I left a bowl in my room and he went ballistic because I didn't take it out (right now he's still upset about that [happened a week ago]). One of the biggest things that I don't like about him is his self-centered personality. I have a speech defiency ( I stutter okay...) and he says that he and my mother have it harder than I do. Come on, does that make any sense whatsoever?

I can't wait for the day I move out and become someone successful (not trying to brag) by my standards. I won't him to apologize for all the nasty things that he's done and regret the awful things he said about me.

My question is, how do I better myself so I can prove to him that I'm worth something now and in the future?

I have a sis who is very sociable, popular and glamourous. I have always been her fan growing up, however, now that I am a senior myself, I realize that our relationship is "one-way" - as long as I "applaud" her, she's pleased. When I look good or have my achievements, she isn't as appreciative. She isn't bad and can even be kind, but wants to be "first" in the attention dept. Even as we enter a place, she is watching for the attention of the paparazzi! In fact, will forget we walked in together. In a store, she'll race for the clothes to purchase ahead of me. That's fine. But she'll buy what isn't her style but mine!! Then I can't buy it or if I do, she'll rush and wear it on the next social so everyone knows she saw it first!! It's petty but it bothers me because it happens so often. I shop alone because of this sometimes but I enjoy her company otherwise... and this isn't the only situation! Does she suffer from ADD? my hubby thinks she does...she's a senior too!

Okay, I guess I haven't been the best daughter. For example, I don't have the best grades. My parents are always contributing to everything so that I'll be on top. I take to many things for granted, I guess. I recently got kicked out this Law program in my school for my embarrasing grades. I have to make up a lot of classes in summer school, night school, saturday school, and what not. I don't know what's wrong with me. Before I use to be so dedicated to my school work, always looking foward to getting excellent grades and stuff. My mother only knows about 1 class that I failed, but in reality I failed 4. On Tuesday, she is going to go to the school and see what's up with me. What excuse will I have for having such a bad school record? I am grounded for 'pretending' I had school when I really didn't. I am a sophmore, turning a junior, in fall. I am 16 years old. Is it to late to get my grades up? What should I tell my mom when she sees my grades? I also owe a $238.00 debt for owing boo

I have dated their son for almost 3 years, and have lived with him for 2. His parents recently finished building a cabin and they are all going up there this weekend. The other son was invited, as well as his wife and her kids. My boyfriend has asked once (in passing), "are you going this w/e?" But his parents have not invited me.

Am I over-reacting? Or is this a clear sign that they want nothing to do with me?

Okay, the other day I opened the door to my fifteen year-old sister's bedroom (I know I should have knocked, but I forget) to find her straddling the arm of a chair (she wasn't completely naked, thank God; she was weaing panties and a t-shirt). She was all red-faced and obviously about to climax. I ran out of the room and now I can't even look at her, and she can't look at me! The worst thing, though, is our family is a very strict Roman-Catholic one, and I know if my parents ever knew what she were doing, they would be so upest and angry!! Should I tell my parents?? I feel guilty for just seeing the act.

I'm a 28 year old female. It get really irritated and depressed living with my mom, she is the most negative and critical person I've ever known. But since I am still studying and not happy at my job because they humiliate me and treat me like a servant. I am not sure if I should move out with a roommate. I wanted to save some money but I am getting really stressed living with my mother and my step sister.
What would you do?

Im in my first year at university and living at home. I really enjoy socialising so I go out with my friends quite a lot. 3 times a week or so usually. My dad gets really angry and doesn't realise that going out is a normal part of uni life. My mum is ok with me going out but sometimes I think my dad would prefer if I didn't go out at all and just stayed at home studying. I think its a cultural thing. In the country he was brought up it was something bad to go out, and in his home country people at uni don't see it as a social experience but a place to study full stop. How can I convince him? Are there any other people in my situation?

we moved from hawaii to virginia where we came from the lower education standards to one of the best educational districs in the nation. my son did wonderful in kindergarten, had the best teacher and then in 1st grade his teacher was not the best. we also moved during the school year in december and he missed a whole month and a half of school ( year round school) and started back the middle of January. We are moving again in August to Georgia. I see his is struggling a bit, but I also feel that he will do okay in 2nd grade, but his teacher recommends he be held back in 1st grade. I'm stuck on what to do, I know the teacher has his best intersest in mind and sees how he does everyday in class, but since we are moving schools again, I'm not sure it's the best thing to do. Any comments would be great. Thank you!!
