When you were a teen...you saw your parents as maybe pretty cool or kinda old fashioned and imbarasing....My question is....when you look threw your kids eyes at yourself, do you see your mom or dad?

I have a problem that has caused me to have the unhappiest pregnancy I could have imagined. I am due to have my first child in four weeks. The father is gorgeous by any womans standards, and he knows this. However, he is very gentle with me, caring and sensual. Most of the time. About twice a month we have an over scale blow out. I scream, he screams ( and says nastier things to me than any one ever has in my life) and twice now he has shoved me. Once was about two weeks ago. I have hit him in this face a handful of times, he isnt completely to blame. My mother hates him, they both say horrible things about eachother to me. My mom blames me for his actions and he punishes me for who my mother is. I almost hate them both anymore. I work for my mother so I cannot get away from her. I love him more than anything in this world, but I am having trouble forgiving a lot that has happened. I almost feel like my life would be better without both of them. Should I leave?

My neighbor has 2 daughters, 14 & 11. The 14 year old hasn’t talked to the 11 yr old for 6 mnths because her parents don’t allow her date, go to the movies or friends house, & are very strict. She told the 11 yr old to tell her parents to give her the freedom & not worry about her because when she was 11, she wasn’t allowed to do many things the 11 yr old can now because the second child always has more freedom than the first. The 11 yr old refuse to tell her parents to give her the freedom. She feels it is unfair because her younger sister has freedom because of her & she can’t get freedom because of her sister. She say her little sister use her for freedom & is selfish & will not talk to her sister until she do what she says. The parents know the 14 yr old hasn’t talked to her sister, but don’t know why. They are worried & want to help but can’t. Sometimes I want to tell them, but don’t because I was bought up “Don’t put mind someone’s family business unless it is life threatening.”

I am a 34 year old women, my bf is 37. I have all my life been dealing with a controlling and unhappy father. My boyfriend of a year has bowed down in a sense to my dad to get his validation etc. last night after my father knocking every statment made by my boyfriend, my boyfriend went back at him and it lead to very, very heated argument. i am currently in therapy to finally deal with my fathers always being so unaccepting of me all my life. i have been venting quite a bit about my dad latley to my BF and so has my brother since he works with my BF. so after my dad starting with him last night, with all this in mind, he went off..... and u know what i wasnt mad, i was like yeah, tell him. i felt like it was everyting ive wanted to say for over 30 years. my bf tried to apologize and my father keep feeding the fire with comments.
Has anyone had a situation like this?? how can we make it work, i dont want to choose between them.

Last year my parents had a Ruby wedding anniversary and me & my sister gave them a week in a lovely hotel in Prague as a gift. My sister also got married and I gave her the money for the wedding photographer as a present. I wanted to do both of these so that's not the issue, but I had my 10th wedding anniversary (also last year) and received no card from either parents or sister and was given £5 towards an anniversary meal from my mum..

Hi there... I use to live in London and I used to work in a Barclays bank, Compliance department, everything was gorgeous but when my contract finished, I decided to go back home with my mum... I've made the biggest mistake in my life... They-> (my parents) push me down they want me to stay here in my country, but I get used to live by myself, to be responsible about myself… And it is quite difficult to explain what I’m feeling… I am adult but still I’m feeling like a child… And there is no chance to explain them; I tried to shout, scream, no way… I understand that there in UK no one is waiting for me… What should I do?
