I have not seen my mom in 4 years...have not spoke to her in over 1 year. She has drug issues along with just general life issues - she lives for drama. There is just a long, long history as to why I have cut her out of my life. She is very controling and vindictive as well. I didn't know where she was living - the last I heard she was being kicked out of her house for forclosure. I got a call last night from my grandma (her mom). She is living about 2-3 hours from me and wants to come see my kids. The last communication I got from her was a very nasty letter defending everything she did to me and my kids, blaming it on her problems and how I was an awful daughter. She tells family that she is sorry she wrote it. I don't want to be mean and keep my kids from family, but I don't know if she is sincere. Why won't she call me and ask herself? Why doesn't she apologize to me directly? Is it a bad idea to agree to meet with her?

My daughter has been pretty good up until about the last 2 years. Her father started telling her that she could move in with him as she was old enough to decide for herself who she wanted to live with. He was married or at least had a full time girlfriend until 2 years ago. When he was married or has a girlfriend my daughter comes 2nd know matter what. He never was interested in seeing her even on his weekends with her and during the summer he has visitation for 2 full weeks and out of the last 14 years has taken her twice but brought her back after a week. He told her he does not like being alone, and I think that is why he is paying attention to her now as he does not have a full time girlfriend so she is better than nothing. He tells her and me that he will let her do what ever she wants while she is with him and he does. I don't believe she should have that kind of freedom. It has been a week and he refuses to let me talk to her. I retained a lawyer but I am still worried about it

I'm a Uni Student, savings whipped out cos cheated in car scam. Paying off car loan and maintenance using credit [obtained before entering uni] and wife's salary. Staying in her home with parents-in-law for food and pocket $$. Also not to ask $$ from own parents. Now my own younger Brother (working and just got bonus, staying with parents) asking $$ to contribute for family's CNY w/o any words of concerns of my plight. Elder brother working overseas. Although have not contributed to family but didn't take $$ including school fees from family either since NS. What should i do?

I graduated from college this past May. All of my college tuition was paid with loans, which I am now paying back. I am about $20,000 in debt. It took me 5 years and I just got a Bachelor's degree.

My sister goes to UCLA and was going to go to medical school when she got her Bachelor's but decided not to. She has no debt as far as loans go. She is in her last year there.

I was just downstairs and saw my mom's credit card bill and I noticed an almost $3,000 charge and I found out it was for my sister's fall tuition.

Does anyone see this as unfair? How I am $20,000 in debt while my mom is paying my sister's college tuition? Doesn't this seem like my mom is favoring her over me?

And before I get any smart remarks about living at home, I am living at home for 1 year while my husband is deployed.

she couldn't stand the pressure in U.S. She left my dad and me went back to china by herself but then she attempted to commit suicide 4 times. I don't know how to forgive her and forget everything that's happened because of her actions. I just can't forget how much pain she brought to our family to me. Now she wants to be back with me and my dad i'm scared that i can't accept her anymore. I just can't forgive what she's done. I felt extremely betrayed because she was my hero and the person i look up to since i was a toddler. She let me down completely and it hurt so much. I don't know what to do. She hurt me so much to a point I just don't want to see her or talk to her. Is it so wrong to dislike her because of all this?

I've had a really big weekend, and had no free time, and last week of school was the most stressful ever. I was and am depressed for the whole week. I want some time off. Whenever I try to fake sick, my parents arent worry worts, so I can't stay home.. and I don't like the fake throwup metod. Nothing to do with throwup, because the last time I threw up was 6 years ago, and my parents will surely take me to the doctors. Any methods that'd ACTUALLY work?

We have a mobile home that is on my in-laws land and we have been trying to move it.........the first two house movers screwed us around and now the city we are moving into is giving us a hard time. Seems they are trying to outlaw mobile homes, the house mover we have now is trying everything he can to help us, but sometimes lately I feel it is a little hopeless. We have been in a motel for over a month now and I am tired and stressed out. My in-laws have been hateful, mean people and we just want to get away and live our own lives. Don't know that I really have a question just looking to vent and find some hopeful words.

My brother is a sophomore in high school and we just recently moved to an entire new area where he knows no one. He wont wake up in the morning to go to school and you literally have to drag him out of bed. He has ADHD, not too sure if that has anything to do with it. He gets his cell phone taken away and no computer priviliges as a result of not going to school. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get this kid up in the morning without putting up a fight? My dad and I are fed up with his crap and just need him to go to school. Thanks a ton!

I'm a widow, live with her at her apartment. A wonderful girl, has a job and takes a postgraduation course in Chemistry. I try to contibute, help and give all my love. But I can't stop being a mom, maybe I shouldn't, but moms are moms. So I agree I try to interfere in her life and control her a bit. She's wonderful, but at 23 still inexperienced and sometimes drives me crazy, coming home late, working too much, going to parties and getting little sleep. Of course since she's an adult I have no formal authority, but still have some psychological one So, some days ago she wanted to go to a party after, I said Oh no hun, you need some sleep or you'll get sleep. She ended up obeying. This was great, but her extremely dynamic life makes me worried, I need a bit more control, I wish I could ground her sometimes, with all my love of course. This is a dangerous age, she's an adult, has a job, makes money, is wonderful but still a bit immature. I dont know if she'll obney if I ground her

This girl is a college girl living @ home and close to her family! She knows I like her, but we are not talking, yet. I know her family from church, but not well.

They are always nice to me, but they tend to avoid me sometimes. ...and stare at me in church sometimes. What's going on?? It makes me nervous!! Are they secretly laughing @ me bc the girl said she didn't like me or something?

I'm 15 and really doubt this is true. Acording to my perception, most parents don't worry about their kids happiness, don't care about how they feel, frequently humilkiate them and hurt their feelings. They don't love their kids when they get in trouble or when they simply act in a way parents don't like. Many abandon their kids when they are in trouble, it's not true they are always there for them. It seems most of them just want to be proud of their kids, but abandon them if they are not.
I think most people will still help their parents even if they are criminals, but parents will abandon their kids in such kids.
It's something sad and frustrating to realize you do'nt realy have someone who love you uncondionally and will accept you as you are,

I have 26years old half-brother who is eight years older than me and I only met him a few times in my life. Ever since I went on a holiday to spend time with him two weeks ago, i was starting to like him so much and it develops into a crush. We are so close and he sometimes tease me or talk to me about like "intimate" things so I was confused about whenether he likes me or just treat me like his little sister. So I dont want to make things worse for him and my family if I asked if he too likes me. iT WOULD be embarresing.,please do help me about what should i do about it without damaging our good relationship.
