My brother is a sophomore in high school and we just recently moved to an entire new area where he knows no one. He wont wake up in the morning to go to school and you literally have to drag him out of bed. He has ADHD, not too sure if that has anything to do with it. He gets his cell phone taken away and no computer priviliges as a result of not going to school. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get this kid up in the morning without putting up a fight? My dad and I are fed up with his crap and just need him to go to school. Thanks a ton!

My son also has adhd and i make sure he gets his multi-vitamins with minerals everyday and extra o-megas and a melatonin (read about it) everynight before bed, to insure he gets good sleep. After about 2 weeks we all notice a change for the better.

read up on adhd for yourself and your dad, your brother also needs physical activity everyday, even if you throw a baseball to him or something a walk or run.

and on mornings my son will not get up which is usually mondays after the second time of telling him then i get out the squirt gun and have some fun of my own. this does not happen much anymore ones a month now.

It sounds like depression to me. He needs to see a psychiatrist as soon as possible. Not getting up is a tell tale sign of depression. I have lived with someone who has this, and it doesn't go away on its own. People who don't understand it criticize but don't know the facts.

you have to get to the bottom of why he is not getting out of bed---he may be experiencing some depression and also trying to avoid a situation he is not too happy about. Get to the root of what is bothering him. good luck
