Family - January 2007

Help. Advice please. My husband is an only child. No brothers sisters. All his family lives out of state, except for one cousin.
She's the problem. She acted all nice when we first moved here,
2 months ago. She offered to watch our kids for free whenever we needed her to, to help us get back on our feet financially. (That's why we moved here.)
My husband got another job fast. He got us into a house.
Now, he's getting an award at work. His boss says we both have to go cause I gave my husband the idea that saved co. lots of $
We both have to give speech. Cousin swore she'd watch the kids. reminded her Monday. Everything was fine. Then, today ,she calls. Wants to borrow money for her cable bill. We don't have any extra $. Later, she calls says can't watch kids. Her husband is going out of town (He's not. We checked with his boss.) Then,
our Cable got shut off cause she called and said we stole it. It's
included in our rent. We have to pay reconnect fee, now.
What do I do ?

My hubby and i have always talked about what we like sexualy.We really dont have any secrets and our children are grown. We have time alone together and apart.I dont really care if he cruises porn sites as a matter of fact he has called me over to the computer on more than one occasion and ask me if i thought a set of boobs was real or fake.I think that some guys do take it to extream but because i know he does it and dont make it into a huge deal i think its not as exciting as if it would be if i didnt know.I dont think its a good idea to do if you have younger children around because they always seem to see what your doing. I dont think its healthy if it consumes your life to the point of someone being hurt or you lose a job over it but dont you think a little peek every now and again is OK????

Unfortunatey I am having major troubles with my sister, it is a long and stressful story that seems to have gone back around to how it began (getting nasty text messages). We have tried talking to work it out but she doesnt seem to acknowledge her actions that began the troubles, she just wants to forget about it and move on & go back to being really close.

I have a stepmother who i really don't like. She is wierd because she says that her family has mystical powers and hers is that she can tell who is calling before they even call. Her sister can talk to animals and her 21 year old daughter can have dreams of the future. She then says that she is a christian. One time her mother tried to read my sisters palm and she said that my zodiac sign is what makes my personality. My dad is a christian and they got married really quickly and they hardly know each other. I really don't like her that much because she keeps wanting to come some stereotypical family and she is trying to replace my mother. i still live at my moms house during the week. Is she wierd, and how should i deal with her obsession with controling us and making us a family.

when all that smoking does is cause cancer, of many kinds, plus it doesnt do any good to tell your kids what harm they will do ,as the adds on tv are saying. so please tell me why do you all smoke, knowing that it will kill you in the long run. i have an open mind, so please share with me. ok.

Ever since I was little all my dad does is yell at me and criticize me. Which made me grow up with really low self esteem. My syblings feel the same way too. He is just plain mean because he tells us mean stuff. And he acts like a stubborn little kid. My sister and I have no relatioship with him. We're even scare to talk to him. My mom isn't happy either but she says she will struggle financially if she leaves. I feel bad talking mean about him. I do love him regardless because he is my dad.....but I just want this situation to change. He is not an easy person to talk to at all. I think that he is ignorant.....which i can tell the way he treats our pets. Which I do stand up for them....I'm a big animal person. I think he doesn't love himself its why he can't love anybody else....due to his own childhood. I think professional help will be good. My mom told him this and he freaked out saying he wasn't crazy. I just want things to change!

He never says anything nice. And is always critisizing me. He never says I love you anymore. Everything that comes out of his mouth is loud and rude! It makes me want to cry and run away. What do I do?

Mom's been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Question...mom owes everybody money. Her home is way upsidedown, credit cards and probably more. If she names the few things she does own, ie. pictures on the wall, excersize equipment, dishes, you know personal things...if she names them in her will to go to surviving family members, will those items be protected from creditors taking them to satisfy debts??

Ok so..my parents are going through a divorce for a few years now, and today my mom got a phone call....it was a muffled voice, and he(it?) said he would kill me and her if she keeps trying to get her money thats owed to us, don't want to give out too much info..she did call the cops, not too much they can do about it, but......any out there have some safety tips for me.....whether this is serious or not I don't know, it could be a scare off.

This is in virginia btw (for my friends)

On Christmas, my siblings and I got new laptops, but my brother uses his every day after school (unlike my sister and I), and no one really knows what he is doing because he is in a totally different part of our house. I started sneaking up on him tonight (because I do that alot to make sure he is doing his hw and just to scare him) and I looked at the screen and saw pictures of almost naked women. I didn't want to creep up on him then because it would be a very awkward situation, and I wouldn't be able to handle it, so instead I creeped back to the room I was in. After that I walked into the room he was in so he could hear me and said, "Doing your homework?" When I said that, I saw him close the window screen with the pictures of the women, and then he started shouting at me and saying things like, "Go away!"... I don't know whether I should tell my parents or not and if I did I don't know how I would tell them. I also wouldn't know if they would believe me or not. What should I do???

ok so my sister and I are 6 years apart and i feel like i'm always having to put my input in cause you know i've been there done that and found out the what the outcome is and she just dosn't understand that ex: she dosn't do her hw and she lies and tells my parents she has and i catch her on her lie and tell my parents and they tell me to mind my own buisness and then you know i bring up the fact im just looking out for her cause i did the same thing and struggled in school and then i get well your not her mother i am so let me handle this and the same thing happens the next day!!! there are sooo many things like that, that happen i just need help for the sanity of my family and any longer and like my mother says i'm going to check into the crazy house my self

i really want 2 cry sometimes but i cant, dont get me wrong i love to so much and of course i miss him but i just cant bring myself to cry and i really want to just to get everything out and i feel like i should be mouring more... whenever i think of him (which is pretty much all the time) i wanna cry, but i dont and when people bring up cancer, death, my dad, or even things that reminds me of him i try to put on a happy face and act like im not emotional about it. i miss him so much and i really wanna cry but i cant, has that ever happened to anyone?

My son met this boy Isaac in 5th grade, and they are in 7th. They have been best friends ever since! They hung out all the time! Isaac was over our house so much, i could call him my son. But it's strange because i havent seen Isaac in the past month! And my son never talks about him either. My husband says Isaac may have been really busy lately, or he might have other friends. Well Isaac's out everyday walking his Miniature Pinschers.....i hate those dogs, they are so mean! And they arent mean to Isaac, or his family! And everytime i go over there his little min pins attack me! ....Well back to the problem. Every time Isaac is out walking the......(little demons)..i always drive right by him, and when i look at him, he looks away. I dont know what is going on. Every time i try mentioning Isaac, my son gives me this look. I dont know if they had a fight, or something, but i know i am never going to get my son to tell me. He wont even talk about a miniature pinscher!

Do you think it is right to punish a kid or make them feel guilty when they are not good at sports,school work or anything else.
I think it is wrong to hold a emotional shotgun to there head to make them be good at something.
I do not feel any kid deserves it.

I know my little brother has been through alot with these kids that live here are pushing him around and saying some mean stuff to him and everything, he has been through alot, but today he never smiled at all. He use to always smile sometimes. We've been trying to figure out ways to get him to smile. We ran out of ideas. What can we do to get him to smile again?
