when all that smoking does is cause cancer, of many kinds, plus it doesnt do any good to tell your kids what harm they will do ,as the adds on tv are saying. so please tell me why do you all smoke, knowing that it will kill you in the long run. i have an open mind, so please share with me. ok.

I dont know either.. i started smoking back when i was 15. I have tried the patch, gum, ECT. i can't seem to stop!! i wish i new then what i know now... i woulda never lit it up... Heres the best part.. i use to always say when i was a little girl that i would never smoke, and that it was nasty (my dad smokes). and i ended up smoking..

Because when I was a kid I saw it in movies and older kids doing it and well I thought I was cool. Before I knew it smoking became a habit. Here's the kicker...I actually quit for nearly 2 yrs and then started again still don't know why.

becose they see people in the mvies and celebirties smoking and if smoke makes famous people look kool, they smoke to win friends, and then the nicotine plays his job, becouse it is what provokes addiction. There are other reasons, a lot, for example, if your parents smoke and it is supossed you must follow their example, you smoke too. Other eason is when the supossed "friends" press one person to smoke becouse they tell him things like: "if you dont smoke you are not friend of us" and the person to have friends smoke, this happens more often in teenagers.

I think they do, though it's not a concious decision. If you think about it, adults are usually the ones you see smoking. So it's not a big leap to think that adolescents who want to appear more grownup would try cigarettes to accomplish it, even if it's only in a subconcious decision.

cigarrettes are ADDICTING as all He**. Once you get hooked it's hard to quit. best advice is not to start. Kids think it makes tehm look "grown up" . Little do they know, they will grow to regret looking grown up in a few yrs when they DO try to quit or develop a disease. They are at the age when they "know it all". When they do ACTUALLY grow up they will find out just how little they knew.

It is insane the number of teens who now smoke. It drives me crazy. I think they feel they are invincible to cancers etc... what really pisses me off is when pregnant people smoke and people with children in the car etc.....
