Family - December 2006

This won't be the first time. I'm Asian, and I had this done to me beore many times by my dad. I've been beaten up not too long ago too - on Friday because I woke up late for school, and I had this huge blackish red bruise on my leg and one on my hand. I've been depressed about it since and my grades have been slipping in the last couple of months (a 80% student to a 50% in last 2 months!! I have never gotten this kind of mark before.) I've told him over and over again to stop beating me up. Now my dad found out at work today that I was doing really bad in Physics (My mom called him, she got a call from my teacher). He called me on phone, disapointed and hung up without a word. I'm afraid that when he comes home tonight, he'll beat me up again. What should I do?

My little sister who is 6 and my little brother who is 4 have no manners They never say sorry or please.

My sister asks me to do stuff for her and ill i tell her is to say please.. and she says no and starts crying for 1 hour straight trying to get what she wants.

I mean all she has to do is just say please but she rather cry for 1 hour straight.

same with my little brother. What is wrong with them. Is this normal??

He never stops being angry or upset as us. He is always crabby. He never talks to anyone. When he does talk he talks like he hates us.

my parents just finished another friggen fight, im so sick of them now. i just want to go away and start living on my own early, this isnt worth it.

and everyday i go to school and act like im all happy and stuff so no one will know, and i hope they wont fight again. this has gone on for years now, and its just tiring, i can never truly relax anymore, and im not talking to a school counselor, thats too embarrassing and i dont trust them to not tell anyone else.

any tips at all would be appreciated

Our family is in the middle of a struggle. We are losing our son to a very rare genetic disorder. Although this is our only child we are struggling with family members and friends who just dont understand how this is affecting my wife and I. This is the time we need them the most but it feels like they just make this experience worse. We are struggling with sooo much, my wife has been living at the bed side for the last nine months, and I have been back and forth from work to the hospital which is 130 mi. away. We run a small business and it has suffered greatly and not sure if we can continue, mounting medical bills ( the insurance company doesn't pay for everything ) and the gutwrenching frustraion of the unknown. I can't even fathum what is about to transpire in our lives, I'm the husband and the father, I'm suposed to be the strong one but I'm not feeling very strong. How do I hold this together and not go down in flames.....????

I normally go to Missouri to spend time with my Dad and relatives there. I just found out that my dad got a siezure from drinking too much alcohol (he recently stopped drinking completely). Now he's going to spend the next two months in a rehab place. He's even staying there for Christmas. So, all my relatives' Christmas is basically ruined considering one of their family members is sick. And I won't even be able to go there for Christmas because me Dad can't take me. So there's 'sending' the nice things they got me. Fun holidays right? I'm sorry I just really need to vent so I decided to write this. I was crying all day when I found out and decided I'd just put it up here. Some kind words would be great. Thanks :/

My stepfather is always yelling at me and being rude to me. I have a younger brother and my stepfather treates him like gold and me like trash. I just don't get it. He is always yelling and giving me an attitude when most of the time I am not doing anything wrong. I am 19 years old and when I tell my mom that I am going to move out when I get the money, she gives me the cold shoulder. I explain to her that it is because of my stepfather but she says I am wrong. She is always defending him and pretty much saying that he is always right. What can I do? I don't know how much more I can take before I explode. I mean, whenever my brother does something wrong, my stepfather doesn't care but the second I do something wrong, I really get it. Also, like when we have bottles of soda in the house, my stepfather says that I can't drink out of them and then put them in the fridge, but my brother can. I just don't get it. Please help me out. Last April my mom passed away. Her husband is now residing with me due to having no income and couldnt pay his rent. He cant work no more , he is disabled due to a surgery he had. He applied for social security. Thats a waiting game. After my mom passed on, My sister told me he has made come comments to her about her and him being 2 gather. He eventually scared her enuff that she wont go around him, And has nitemares. Now my sister is homeless and the only place she n her kids has 2 go is my house. That means I have to ask him 2 leave. And I feel so bad because he aint done nothing to me. Also he has no family here. I cant let my family go to a homeless shelter. How do I tell him he has to leave when I know he aint got no where to go ? My 2 nieces and nephew should come first , Right ? Any advice foir me ? Please help , running out of time.

because i've just been caught 'white handed', masturbating when my mum, dad, brother, sister and the bank manager just walked in the door. so embarrassed! im downstairs in the rennovated basement of the computer trying to steer clear now. they didnt say much when they came in and i just went downstairs as red as a goose!

Okay, so they're not in-laws yet, but they might as well be. I really don't know what to get my boyfriend's parents for Christmas. I wouldn't worry about it so much, but I know they're getting me something, so I'll feel like a heel if I don't return the favor. The hard part is, I know nothing about them! He works various random jobs, and she's a housewife...well, except she doesn't really cook or clean. I was thinking a picture frame or candle for her, but what do you get for a 45-year old man you know nothing about?! (I've asked my boyfriend for tips, but he's really not much help.) Any ideas would be wonderful!

Well one incidence was that my family was on a airplane and we were looking at a map of the world.All of a sudden she blurts out 'Oh Terry (my dad) The Bahamas are in Canada right?So ...we did'nt say anything cause we were embarrassed.She done so many things to embarrass me and my sister ,what should i do? My dad is always mean.Tonight he wouldn't wash a pan for my mom oand i tried to help by washing it,and he yelled at me! The he always takes his anger out on me.i don't know why.do your parents do that?he's always mad because we don't clean.my mom just had carpul tunnel surgery so she can't do the dishes,he gets mad.i forgot to put up my cloths,he gets mad.my brother always goes,"aaaaaaak"at my dad when he tells him to do somthing.he pops hims.i left the wagon in which i brought the groceries in on the porch,he gets mad.Why?Why is he like this?

I am thinking about being a SAHM once I my husband and I have kids. He makes around $40K a year. I want to hear from SAHM's whose husbands have about the same or less of a salary and are living on that budget-

How hard was it to quit your job and then live on an income about this size?
What did you give up to make ends meet?
Do you supplement your income at all thru part time/at home work?

I asked a similar question on a different part of Yahoo answers and didnt quite get what I wanted..
I understand that if I really want to stay home that I can make it work if I sacrifice enough, but I just want to hear about people's personal experiences in working with this size a budget.

My father's eldest sister who aged 51, unmarried but having relationship with a married man. She stayed in our family home for few years already. She likes to take care of other ppl business though it's nth to do with her. It's so irritating. Whatever ppl did, she likes to comment but how perfect she is, she never look at herself. She's also a ***** snatching ppl's husband. She did contribute some allowance to our family expenses but that doesn't mean she can say whatever she likes without considering other ppl's feeling. My whole family was so dislike her but she never realise it and always thinks she's perfect. Doesn't make sense at all. How to make her shut her mouth and never mind other ppl's business. We are all old enough to think for ourselves but she's always at the back complaining to outside ppl that we owed her money (that she contribute) so she has the right to take care of our matter. Is it all unmarried woman always behave like this?

I really can't stand it anymore, like he speak spanish but has trouble speaking english. So today I had to translate for him sense they where checking the house. When someone comes in, he has to say hes whole name. Talk about his life, where he comes from, politics, and all this other crap. When they only want to check the house and ask simple question. Im telling him, to calm down and that they already know and I have told them. But he has to try to say it in English. It has to be a stranger, he will give them cookies or something. If they say no thank you he pursues them to take it. Hes loud, hard temper, and because of this I try to avoid him. I hardly go out to eat with him, he never goes to my school meetings, or any other school activitys. I just really don't know what to do, and Im stressed about this.

Okay so over last Thanksgiving break (in 2005)i traveled over 100 miles to see my favorite cousins who live 2 hours away.okay? So I spent 5 days there. My cousin..we'll call him "Tyler" and i were in his room playing video games. All of a sundden he came up and started touching me...He put onme hand up my shirt and the other down my jeans. He started fingering me and it hurt really bad. Then he left the room and I went to leave and he came back in but this time he was wearing a condom and was begging me to have sex with him. Well I have a problem and it has to do with my mom. she is really stressed out and any little think that my two family member do tics her off this feud between my mom and the two bitches has gone on for ten year’s I myself cant take it anymore. no there not my sisters and there not my moms sisters, my dad just feels sorry for them and they have no life so they live with us. The sad thing is we can’t move out because we don’t have the money and now is not at all a good time either. My mom has so much to deal with its not even funny. i am totally sad,and confused about xmas this year..I have a sister,brother,and a mom,my dad passes away 10 years ago.I am married and have 2 girls of my own..My sister is very difficult to get along with and we got in a fight about 6 mnths ago..She decided she didnt want me in her life anymore,(the fight was that I couldnt go out with her 1 night)..had others,but this honestly is what happened this go around.Every year we switch off who is going to have xmas at their house,my brother doesnt have it and thats ok,my mom wont go because the house is a disaster,and it really is,,she is very nice but a huge slob,so they just come to our homes..Ive accepted it,and I dont even care about that...Well my sister invited my whole family except for us..When I found that out I asked my mother,did u say anything to her,my mother said yes and she responded she didnt want me in her home,,I have always been the acomadator to her,and have always forgiven her for things ,dont ya think my mom is wrong??
