Okay, so they're not in-laws yet, but they might as well be. I really don't know what to get my boyfriend's parents for Christmas. I wouldn't worry about it so much, but I know they're getting me something, so I'll feel like a heel if I don't return the favor. The hard part is, I know nothing about them! He works various random jobs, and she's a housewife...well, except she doesn't really cook or clean. I was thinking a picture frame or candle for her, but what do you get for a 45-year old man you know nothing about?! (I've asked my boyfriend for tips, but he's really not much help.) Any ideas would be wonderful!

Okay, in response to a post, they do have money. A lot, in fact. They have a maid and most of the time go out for meals. So...yeah. Hope that helps.

Find out who is favorite player is then buy a two picture frame the frames roughly the size you put a school picture in.. then on ebay buy him a rookie card and a game used card or autographed card (2/3 being hockey it should not even be that expensive)... these will be pretty simple to find even though it seems like a tall order.. then put them in the frame it makes for a great gift because you are giving them a piece of somone they truly admire...

It doesn't sound like they have much money if he's only working at "random jobs." I hope your boyfriend is more ambitious than his parents. If she doesn't cook or clean, how does she spend her time? I'm more concerned about you getting too involved with this family. Are you sure your boyfriend is going to be more work oriented than his parents? What kind of future do you see for the two of you when the bills start coming in? How about giving his parents a gift card to a movie? a restaurant? a crock pot and recipe book? a wall clock? Whatever you decide, make it a reasonably priced gift, nothing too much.
