My mother-in-law hated me from the day she met me. Our first meeting ended with her pulling my then girlfriend aside and asking her 'what is that?'. She spent the entire day looking at me as if I were something unpleasant that she'd stepped in which was noticed by everyone which continued everytime we saw her. I have never been anything but polite and friendly to her despite her obvious dislike for me and she has frequently called me names and made spiteful remarks to my now wife in my absence.
Whenever my girlfriend and I had problems, often because of her behaviour and my girlfriends reluctance to say anything to her, she ran to her mother and allowed her mother to call me everything from a 'control freak' to 'that prick'. We are now married and I told my wife that I will not deal with her after everything she has said. Am I right to refuse to deal with her and is it fair of me to tell my wife that she must defend me or I will defend myself?

I hate People, does that mean there is something wrong with me? When think of going outside I have a panic attack and grab a bottle of whisky to calm myself down. I also have panic attacks when I see the fresh prince of bel-air on t.v. and go into convulsions? Any help?

I'm graduating from college soon, and need to decide what to do. I have an apartment lined up, but have not signed a lease. I am currently in Atlanta, and have no job lined up. I live back in the northeast, and would not be at all looking forward to moving home. In addition, I have a girlfriend and friends down here, but they are not my main motivation. I really want some independence, but have no clue what I should do!!! My parents really think I should move back home, but I really don't want to.

To be honest, if you have watched football, some of them you cannot tell them from the black players. Yeah some may have the wavy hair when they take the helmets off but they have the facial features and color and body physique of the black players.
Don't believe me, look at Troy Polamalu of the Steelers or Deuce Latui of the Cardinals. They look like mixed black guys.
I was watching a clip on the USC football team from last year and there were 2 samoan players on the offensive line. They fit right in with the black players. The way they were acting and the swagger, especially when one of them let his beard grow out, some black guys I know didn't have a beard that rough.
I'm just pointing this out out because I keep mistaking them for black guys. Not a problem though.

I have two teenagers at home and one phone line. Does anyone have some bright ideas on how they can effectively share the phone? We're not going to add another line--they just have to learn to play nicely.

I realize this sounds kind of quaint with all the technology out there.
Before you suggest cell phones--one of the kids does have their own cell. However, our rule is that the phone is primarily for us to communicate with them. When they're home, the phone is off and on the kitchen counter. (This way we have a better handle on who they're talking to, and there's no texting at 1 a.m. under the covers.)

Your help is greatly appreciated!

My best friend and i are both in the same physics class in college & her father is the instructor. I have known him for 3 yrs. He always seemed cheerful and happy but now he just seems depressed & sad. One day in lab I heard my friend say for whatever reason, "just shut up dad you're a total geek." Another day in lab she told him to "Drop dead" because SHE screwed up on an experiment, so he gave her a sad look and walked off. I go to her house sometimes where she is really mean to her parents. Her dad doesn't play favorites to her in class just because she is his daughter. She got a D on one of her tests & that day I was at her house, she griped at her dad & he told her to be quiet because he had enough so she screamed at him "I hope you DIE dad!" She does it all the time. In lectures, sometimes he looks like he cried tears before class. Im kinda worried he might be suicidal. My question is can you kill your parents by telling them you hate them & that u hope they die every single day?

I am kinda pissed right now, but I cant understand why a mother would have to force her child kicking and screaming to see the father when the child. Doesnt want to? My question is if the child doesnt want to go to the other parents house, does the child have to go? (Yes there is a court order,) (but) if the judge or who ever was told that the child freaks out everytime the child is dropped off and begs the parent not to leave them, would or can he make it so the child doesnt have to go?

I've lived in California my whole life and im just ready for a move, i'm sick of it here, its just to expensive for us. My work has laid us all of and 2/28/2007 is our last day. There moving to Hillsboro, Oregon and offered us jobs if we're willing to relocate, at no cost to them thu so we'll have to pay for our move. I've looked at apartments, houses and townhouses and its so nice and cheap up there. For a 3 bedroom nice new townhouse it was only $1100. Thats how much I pay now for a small 1 bedroom apartment. Would u take the move. I'm so nervous. I wanna do it but just not alone. I live with my BF of 5 years and he's willing to do it. But he would rather 1 of us {me} go up there and try it out 1st, then he'll come up. He would move back into his parents house for a few months not pay rent and send me money. I just dont know. I wanna do it but i'm so scared. How can i push myself to do it.

I have an 8 year old daughter, a 2 year old girl and a 9 month old son. There is a significant age gap between my first two children. My eldest daughter was an only child for so long I think it went to her head. She is constantly bossing around my younger daughter as though she is the mother. I constantly ask her to please be a good big sister and look out for her younger siblings but she insists on whining, tattling, threatening and bossing her sister. I feel as though every time I turn around she is trying to place her younger sister on time-out or tell her what to do. They are at each other's throats...and my younger daughter is only 2.

My 8 year old girl can be great and sweet at times. But I fear that she thinks she is in control rather than a child. She talks back to me at every request I make. She whines when she doesn't get exactly what she wants. She fake cries with gusto when she is denied an explaination for everything. What should I do to correct these behaviours?

I mean, most of you probably don't care either way but, I just always feel so different from everyone in my family..... My kin tests me out frequently to see what I'm capable of but I always fail everything... No matter what I try, I just don't meet their expectations..... They're never happy with whatever I do.... Even my cousins are distant towards me..... What should I do?

My boyfriend and i have been together for 3 years, and i would love to move out with him. how do i bring this up to her without hurting her feelings or getting her angry?
