My aunts and uncles have done something terrible to me and my immediate family (i.e, my mother and brother). Is it ok for me to severe ties with my aunts and uncles for the rest of my life?

Its really sad when family hurt each other, and I am sad for you, your mother and brother.

I think you could keep your distance to show respect to your mother and brother.

It may not be necessary to break ties with them altogether. But it would be understandable if you did not act as close or trusting as you previously did.

PS The rest of your life could be a very long time indeed, I dont think its necessary to make any promises like that!

No. Maybe be cool toward them for a while, but don't cut them out of your life.

My hubby's sister severed ties with the rest of us because we wouldn't take her side in a family arguement. Now, the family goes on, all together, except for this sister. Her choice. She's the one who's suffering over it.

You're likely to be the one who suffers if you let them go. Better to think about forgiveness after a little while.

Do what you can live with later on...how about a temporary cutoff of contact? It is always best to temper anger with the passage of time...no decision made in haste or in anger is usually proven over time....cool off before making suchj an important decision regarding family

Only you can deside that one not anyone else. Do you think with time you could forgive them and can you see yourself living without them for the rest of you life??
