Why do we sing "Rock a bye baby" to lull our little ones to sleep when the song is about putting your baby in a tree and letting the wind crash the cradle to the ground?

the eldest is 12. no probs. the 7, 6 and 3 yr old always fighting and screaming. i need supernanny! peace and quiet, whats that!! any advice would be better than nothing.

I was in a bad 10yr relationship with my children father, he was an alcolholic and abuser. Three years ago my kids were removed from my home, they wanted me to leave him and i did and my children were removed from me anyways, now i have my 2 oldest back, which is great, but my 2 youngest are up for adoption, i just dont understand why am i good enough for only 2 kids and i been fighting hard to get them back and its not happening. Does anyone know what else can i do??? They system goes after the wrong ppl. I never did drugs nor drink, I just need some opion on how can i get them back...

I'm in the military and overseas and i need some advice. I want to find something she can make her own and have fun with or find something she can use to relax. She's 28 and is back home watching our daughter and working i would like to get her something that says thank you for being such a great wife while i'm gone even though i know it's hard when i'm gone. My older sister is 16. She always wants everything to go her way, and lies all the time. She doesn't do drugs or anything like that, but she isn't afraid to confront our parents and argue with them. She shouts at me for putting my feet on the couch or the table, but then she does it herself a couple minutes later. Every time I oppose her, she raises her voice and threatens to steal/hide or break my items, like my computer, homework, etc. She has done this multiple times before, so it's not a dry threat or anything (I'm not really the kind of person to do the same, but I do often when she provokes me). Sometimes she yells at me to leave the TV room because 'she was there 'first', even though it isn't her room at all. But when she is hanging out with her friends she becomes shy and quiet, while at home she is demanding, loud, and mean. In addition, she ALWAYS comes into my room and follows me around. I could go on and on and on, but I don't have enough space. It's a pain. What do I do?

right my girlfriend wants to move in with me she is 17 and i am 18 we are both ready for this and i have everything ready for us a house i have a steady job and i go to college i bring in about 800 a month but she is scared to talk to her parents and ask them i wont be tehre because she lives in england and i live in scotland i is hard she is scared if they say no or disown her she is stil going to come but she doesnt want to lose her family they are not very nice to her they treat her very bad and treat her wrong does anyone have any sugestions on how to help please?

I'm aythest and my mom is mormon my mom makes me go to church all the time and when ever I remind her of home much I hate it she acts like she didnt even hear me. We fight about it alot, Is there any law or anything I can use to stop going to church PLEASE!!

My stepdad just told my 7 year old little brother he couldn't get the Nintendo Wii or something for Christmas, so he's furious, and put the powder SEA MONKEY FOOD in stepdad's drink. I read the label and it says it's very harmful to humans! My stepdad is stumbling around and I'm really scared, I feel like I'm responsible!!! What do I do?? Ive been divorced for almost two years now.The problem is my kids have always been shown that its ok to not respect me.My kids are absolutely perfect when it comes to others.Now when it comes to me they are awfull.Their ages are 16,14and6.The six year old is anormal six year old.The others are the problem.My 14yr old tells me he hates me,leaves on his bike and stays gone for hours without telling me or my fiance where he is going.He is lazy and treats his younger brother like crap.If I ask him to do anything he always sighs or mumbles under his breath.The oldest calls his mom when he is with me to ok things with her without me knowing it.Instance today his workcalled and ask if he would work 2to7.Hismom was coming at 5pm to pick them up.He does not even tell me he calls her and she says that shell just pick them all up at 7pm.I dont mind her picking them up later but I wasnt even asked if I had plans or anything.None of them respect me.What can I do when this is all theyve saw?

My sister lost her job about 3 months ago. She got a new job about a month ago, and is not able to get her kids gifts as she is trying to play catch up on all of her bills. I would like her children to have a decent Christmas and I am not sure who to contact or where to start. I would by them all gifts from Santa if I could, but I have a family of my own. Does anyone know of a place I can contact to get my sister some help with gifts for her kids?

my girl friend feel in danger from one of neighbours daughters boyfriend, he is always hanging round there house and watching my partner, it started off with him delibritley bloking my girlfreinds car in so she couldn't get out with our 4 month old son. i warned him off, since he has made up lies to cause trouble between my girl and me, and our neighbour who was a close freind before all this. he has no job so he is hanging round while i am at work. my girlfreind is scared to leave the house when he is hanging round, she fears for the safty of her self and our son when i am not around. we can't get the police because we have no proof, what can i do to protect my family, if up to me i would kill the pervert (he is 22 and she is 16). any ideas please

She is a lost child that is rebelious. Her grandparents left her and her sister a house. She wantsd to live with her boyfriend thier, not work, and doesn't care if her works. During that time her sister works and goes to school and pays her share of the bills. He is disrepectful curses every one that doesn't agree with him, and refuses to let my daughter waitress so she can help her sister pay bills and go back to school. I think is a LOSER! and a control freak! HELP!!!!!!

I have my own car, a job, go to college, I am more independent compared to the past years but not much have changed and I have a mother that is making me sick. She controls me, she keeps track of everything I do. She knows where I go. The woman even read my thoughts!!! She knows how I feel by simply looking at my face and immediatly come to her own conlusions and acusses me.

I feel that she doesn't want me to make any mistake in my life and that I have to do what she says, and I am getting bothered by this. Years ago I was indifferent about this but now is affecting me. In spite of all the achievements I have done I realized that these achievements have only been for them because right now I am not content with myself.

I though I was the one who was afraid to let go, but I realized that my mother is the one who doesn't want to let go of me.

I am having a baby and me and my boyfriend are both underage I had to move to Arizona to keep the baby for sertain reasons his parents will let him visit me this winter break but he has to get his grades up-failing everything-and pay for half the ticket if he doesn't go through with what he needs to to get down here I believe that is a sighn showing he does not put in enough effort for this and that will have been the second time if he doesn't go through with this sorry to say I give up on him I'll call before I give birth so they can come down but I am done calling and trying for this to work.

I share a pathetic small room with my younger sister. It is really small until one can only walk the perimeters of the room. In addition, i have to endure her super irritaing cough ever night. Of course, i can't sleep properly at all. If i ask my parents about my problems, i will be very selfish in the sense that i want to have the room to myself. But i desperately need my own peacefulness and privacy to concentrate on studies and own relaxation. I feel very vexed and irritated right now! Help please???

Im only 13 and MY mom hates my aunt!! sure my mom has always been the sucesfull one in life you know the homerauma 10,000 sq foot house the 14 acor woods the pace arrow RV, and well then theres my aunt with triplets lives in the middle of texaa in her rv park like thing with so many animals she cant take care of them all! her house is just well a giant mess full of mcdonalds toys! my aunt is really jelous. plus on top of that she is just plain embaressing! she is very loud and she only thinks of herself she is dirty and fat and she lets her triplets run wild! last weekend next to our lot there was a house having an open house next to it and they were planting grass and she parked right on thr grass ON THERE YARD and she wrecked up the grass! they called the police and my mom was so embaressed that she almost started crying!!! i really love my cousins and i want to go see them today! how can i persuade my mom to come to let me see them!!!
