If there is court-ordered visitation and the non-custidial parent insists, there is no age where the child simply cannot go. This being said, it is a pretty sad state when a parent must force their own kid to visit them.
Talk together about the issue, perhaps the other parent will relent. If not, they will only cause resentment in theirs and the child's relationship.

I believe a child has rights. As long it's truly the child's desire, and not simply something put into the child's head. If a child at 13 is legally able to be left alone, I'd expect that age would hold up for visitation as well. However, in any case, it would be best to check with your attny.

The child must conitue to see this parent until there is a court order stating that it's up to the child if they want to or not ... If you just let this child decide for him/herself then you might be violating a court order and can be taken back to court for it...

i can understand how u feel. my daughter is soon to be 12, and her father just came back around after 7 years, she gave him a chance and she felt uncomfortable. So i allowed her to stop seeing and talking to him. atleast 11 or 12 is old enough.
