Do you think that sometimes even though we dont' intend to make the same mistakes our parents did we inadvertently find ourselves doing it? Do you overcompensate for your children by making sure they have everything you didn't and then some?? Are you more lenient? Are you a passive parent???

I'm usually great with gift ideas, but this year - for some weird reason - I'm having some difficulty trying to think up some imaginitive and original. Kind of disappointed with myself really, but there we go! I wanted to steer clear of things like perfume, chocolates or flowers this year, and I don't think she really appreciates my taste in lingerie!

She's 24, lives in the UK, and she likes Hello Kitty, Prison Break, 24 and Friends. Any advice would be just GREAT - much appreciated. Thanks!

Luke

I'm planning to give birth for two child... a daughter and a son hopefully. I wish I could ask my mom directly, but she's already died.... This is a question for every mother out there, how tough is it to become a mother? When is the toughest time as a mother? Can you share me your own experience?

Thanks and BTW, I love you, Mother. Whether you're there or not, you will always be in my heart....

The man is 12 years older, married twice, was her councilor at a "not to be named" youth club for 5 years (age 13-18). The club was very active with outdoor activities, camping, mountian climbing, hiking, and boating. She spent one weekend a month and 6-8 week long trips every year with the club for 5 years. He is the only man she has ever loved or dated, she moved in with him at age 19 and has been living with him for the past 18 months. She always had a crush on him. They had a great friendship, but after she turned 18 and was attending college she told us the relationship had changed and she moved in with him. My wife and I do not believe any person with the responsiblities of guiding young minds should ever use that influence to build a relationship for the future. We never want to see this man again. I have no intentions of going to the wedding. Do I try and get past this or do I continue to make a statement that the relationship is wrong and I do not approve?

My son is wanting a 2004 Chevy Colorado. He says all his friends parents pay 1/2 when they get new vehicles. He has a truck now that we paid for, and paid insurance for. I want him to learn the value of money and want him to buy this one on his own. What should I do?

I babysit 2 kids. The oldest one is very abusive to my children. He kicks, hits, and bites. Their mom is a single mother and cannot afford daycare. I am doing this as a favor to her. However, my 2 oldest kids just started school and I want to take some time for me and my other children. Not to mention that I can no longer deal with the abuse he puts forth on my children. How do I tell their mother that I do not want to watch them anymore and how much of a notice should I give?

My friend is out of town since a year and may come back next month, he has a girlfriend whom he calls everyday twice or thrice since a year, he is yet to talk to his parents about this and if they agree these two will move or else break up.
question is: I meet his girl friend some 6 months back , we both became very good friends and were emotionally tied up very much to each other and than we were so much attached to each other that it was difficult to give a name to our relationship and finally there came a stage where she burst out into tears and told me that she cant live without me and cant imagine a life without me and i was also in the same stage. She says she had never felt such a thing with my friend and she was even ready to breakup if my friends parents didnt agree for there marriage (without any pain). Are we both wrong in liking each other or falling in love with eachother but i swear we never had any intention of doing this but it happened

Do you remember when we used to nag our kids for spending too long playing computer games, and we could never talk to them.
Well are we not now all guilty of the same thing.Spending hours at a time surfing or here on Q&A.
Do you agree that the "computers" are taking over our lives certainly when it comes to leisure time,my kids seem to think so,of course I deny this but,are they right?

relax when you answer this question dont be too emotional, you want a few details? here some, sometimes rude, sometimes throwing fit at us, shouting at his dad(were one yoke one entity sorta were married whatever he did to her dada she do to me). I dont want a hell life and sure I dont want this kid a hell life too,I want to be a family,if not at least be decent with each other,im not sure me being as cool as i can be can really help but it looks like she can get away with anything she likes,i dont want my relationship with my husband be sabotaged and i dont want to start hating anyone and leaving my new family,i left my whole life back in my country to be with this family, got no one but them, give my whole heart but im a person too i do get hurt also,im worried if i let his daughter always get away with what she wants then she always do rude things at me,shes doing things to stop me and my husband to be with each other alone,i CAN GO ON AND ON BUT I THINK THATS ALL THAT IS NEEDED BY NOW

well it's really my Father-in-law who goes skeptical about the whole thing. He's a Catholic and NEEDS to start acting more like one than continues his impeding about our [me and my husband] ways of worshiping The Lord, Jesus Christ. Remember, religion will NOT save us. it's our FAITH in him. so what's the big deal? there's this whole drama going on right now because we neglected his invitation of going to church together on Sunday, instead we wanted to worship God at OUR church, which he disapproves of. What to do...? he isn't talking to us, he even got into a car accident because he was so UPSET. *sigh* =T .....

My parents wouldn't let me drink coke since day one. But these days I occassionally sneak a coke or two up to my room every 2 weeks or so. I feel kinda bad but ya. Should I keep doin it? I'm not fat or overweight or anything, in fact I'm in good shape. But I still feel bad disobeying my parents.
