My 14 year old daughter is in high school and wants to go out with a large group from School, but she has been in a few incidents one in the past month or so when she was arrested for being intoxicated and I think it's a set up for disaster if she goes out and she looks older then 14, she says everyones going, I say stay home and give out candy, what's your take on this?

Before I saw the full details of your question, I would have said about 14-15 years old is too old to go trick or treating. But this isn't about your daughter's age. This is about her irresponsible and immature behaviour. Seriously, being intoxicated AND **arrested** at 14??? And more than once??? What is going on?!

Of COURSE it's a set-up for disaster, read what you wrote for yourself! I agree that she should stay home. She needs to realise life isn't about acting like an idiot, thinking it's cool to be drunk and arrested and not caring about other things that could happen (as you said, she looks older than she really is). It's not like it's the end of the world if she doesn't go.

You are never too old to be young again...If you want to play go fish with your granddaughter let's say...go fish is a little kids game...but you play because it is fun and brings out the kid in you again for both you and your granddaughter. No difference. On the other hand, I would instead let your daughter know she has been in trouble and that is your concern. Maybe her not trick or treating is a punishment for her until she earns your trust back. Never stop someone just because you may think it is for "little kids" or a "younger age". This is what keeps people young. Living life to the fullest every day anyway is what life is all about. Of course jobs, respect and such have to also be included. Life is too short to limit how to have fun in life. I sure hope I explained myself enough for you to understand. Good luck!!! LL.

you shouldn't let her go. better safe than sorry. anyway, she may not like it now, but she will thank you when shes older. when i think back on my childhood i thank my mum for all the times she didn't let me do things or go places.god knows what might have happened. when i was 14 i went to a party and my mum picked me up really early, i was angry at the time but later when i found out how many kids had had sex at the party that night, i realized i was better off being far away from all that

Let her be a child.......She still is a child isn't she?
She 's got the wrong friends you should dictate who her friends are.
My Daughter dose not get to pick all her friends.
I check them out for her and usually she makes good choices
but every once in a while she chooses one that she wish she hadn't..Your the boss chaparone her if you have to.

I say your bigger issue is why your daughter is drinking!
Most regular teens who know how to behave still go out at 14 and 15.
