Because the parents were not given any training themselves, so the don't understand how to bring up the kids. Problem is if you try to point it out, they also don't understand what you are trying to say. So I guess thick is thick and you just have to accept that people are that way. Shame for the children though.

It is usually for the benefit side of things and due to the fact they are uneducated themselves, "TV broken what shall we do tonight, make a kid claim some more" maybe these benefit scheming chumps should learn to read then maybe they wouldnt keep bringing more trouble to the community, they usually do not care about what theire children are up to, there is a good argument to whether a system should be brought in to vet prospective parents. I would like to also add that not all parents with a large amount of children fall into this category they do care and do try and work hard to give their children the best in life and to these I take my hat off, maybe we should find the hardest working mums and dads and get them to give talks to the ones who think having kids is a joke.

some people have the kids thinking it will be all cute and fairytales. yes it is wonderful having children, but it takes all of your life up. I love it but some people would just rather let them play out on street corners because that is what they did.

I sit with my three kids and help them with homework and play on the trampoline with them, talk about the day with them. Then i have kids out front in the street outside in their uniforms till nearly ten o clock at night. This is very poor parenting as far as i am concerened. When do their parents talk and spend quality time with them to help with homework. Some parents need a kick up backside

I can't speak for everyone but I have 5 children and my husband and I stress the importance of education. My oldest is 16 with a 3.75 gpa and is in the who's who in high school, and she is in a program designed for future nurses, my 14 year old is also in a special admission high and she is studying allied health. She must maintain at least a b average to stay in this school. My 13 year old has been interveiwed by an excellent high school in which he too much pass admission test and maintain his grades. My 12 year old has her pick of any high school in our area, she reads on a college level and is advanced in all of her subjects. She will be tested to see if she should be placed in a higher grade next week and my youngest son is 8 and not only is he a straight a student but he plays chess, reads on a 6th grade level, he is at the top of his class in math and science and will be tested in March for admission into a private school on complete scholarship (his teacher recommened him for the scholarship and he is guaranteed the spot as long as he passes the test). I read to my children while they were in the womb and everyday ther after, there tv time is limited and we montior everything that they watch. We make weekly trips to the library and each of them must learn at least one new word a day defination and all. So please don't think that all parents with a large family are this way, believe me not all are. I know of some with only two whose children aren't as intelligent as mine.

This is a subject that makes me so mad, its so unfair to these kids, their parents are uneducated themselves, i live in New Zealand and we have the same problem over here, just up the road from me, there is this family and they never send their two small kids to school, wish is so sad........and the kids don't care, its not their faults its how they were brought up, there is no excuse for kids not going to school, nobody in this day and age has any reason for not being educated...........

Because having children requires no thought. Do you REALLY think any of your friends planed their children? They did not.

This is how the thought process works:

Buying a car:
SUV, Truck, or car?
What color?
Financing?
Extended Warrantee?
Convertible or hardtop?

Painting a house:
What color?
Do it myself or hire someone?
Latex or Oil based paint?

Educating a child?
Public or private?
Savings or take out a loan?
Distance or local?
Secular or Standard?

Making a baby?
Forget to buy condoms or forget to take pills?
What do you mean we are pregnant?

People that have kids are usually the least sexually educated people.
9 out of 10 kids are made this way, believe it!

Perhaps they were not educated themselves. Perhaps because that was how they were brought up. Perhaps because they wish to breed the type of people needed to do what third generation immigrants, newly affluent, no longer want to do. Or perhaps all they like to do is make babies. Who knows, and what does it matter?
