i am angry at my father. i've disliked him for a few years now. but, i need to apologize to him before it's too late. i'm in a pretty tight situation. the thing is, i don't want to talk to him. i don't even want to look at his face. i know damn well i have to change my ways before i regret it. it's just... how do you be nice to a person who you extremely loathe?

im already 19, im crazy sick of my mom, she smothers me with too much love, but she NEVER, and i mean NEVER lets me go out with my friends ever since!!! the result of my ignorance from the outside world made me make mistakes in high school, dont wanna give in to details but i sort of became the school's resident sl*t.

my mom may smother me but when we get into a really bad fight, she punches me, pushes me, pinch and other hurtful things, my parents are divorce, i want to run away to my dad, but he has two kids for his new wife and he cant take care of me...

my mom's boyfriend is also driving me crazy!!! he's starting to give signs of ill-behaviour towards me, telling me he "loves me" in a totally WEIRD way, kissing me when he's not suppose to! i am freaking out here alot!!

i want to run away! but i live in this country where it's dangerous and you have to be a college graduate in order to work, and im afraid because of my ignorance that i might get raped and/or become a real hooker

Why doesn't anyone discipline their children anymore? Hasn't anyone noticed that back when it was "ok" to spank a child's behind, there weren't near as many kids running around acting like spoiled brats? Psychologists say that the "reasoning" part of the brain doen't develop until around the mid-twenties, yet these same Drs want you to try and reason with a child who is misbehaving.

And don't waste your time calling me a child abuser just because I believe in spankings. There is a HUGE difference in spanking a child and abusing a child.

Also, yes, I am the father of two children who receive spankings when they misbehave, and they are very normal, outgoing, and respectful kids.

the mom and dad, (the mom is my daughter) believe in talking and DO NOT allow physical dicipline and thats okay with me but I seem to see conflict between the parents about what dicipline should be used ... the kids take that indecision and manipulate their parents, then must the rest of the family put up with these brats?

Whenever I go out with my parents, to dinner, or some event...the days stress finally takes its toll. I can never tell anyone my true feelings about life and how I learn to cope with it day after day. They say I'm depressed and I always "ruin their meal".
I know I'm not depressed because whenever I'm out with my friends, I have a blast and I'm the star of the party. I don't have any disorder except for type I diabetes, which I learned to manage and control with the help of my dad. How can I make myself more enjoyable to my parents and not get them stressed out all the time?
Thanks.

There are rumors that he is "clean," but those never pan out it seems, but because of his extremely violent history towards me and the rest of the family as well as the community we have chosen of course to keep my new son away from him. My dad told me and my siblings about his "recreational habits" and those of my grandfather's (which were the same as his) and I turned out okay, but my siblings are all on drugs (2 are teenagers) or started sleeping around at a very young age. My question is how do I keep from deceiving my little boy later in life, but also keep that influence away? My husband and I don't do drugs, drink, or smoke, so he won't have that influence at home.

He is my 3rd child and also my 3rd boy.

He is very intelligent. He talks quite a bit and very playful. I am having a hard time accepting the terrible 2's with him. He is very whiney...and very demanding. I am normally very patient...but I find myself getting frustrated easily! I work full time and my husband is disabled, but is Mr. Mom. (He wasn't for the first 2, we both worked)

My 21 month old refuses age appropriate toys. He wants hot wheels, anything having to do with cars, action figures (he says spiderman), and game systems.

His brothers are 6 and 8 years old. So, another question...consider it a bonus question. How can I convince them to let brother have the old toys they won't play with anymore? Should I consider letting him have hot wheels this early?

I am planning on giving "best answer" points. So, please take this seriously...and not just for points.

Can anyone tell me? I can't stand kids. Not all women were meant to be mothers, you know? When my friends tell me they can't wait to "have a family", I 'm like, What the hell are you talking about?! The idea of it disgusts me! Why on earth woud you want to give up any chance of future happiness (for yourself) and freedom just to have some guy's litter? I've even asked MY OWN MOTHER this, and even she confessed, she could have done a lot more with her life and career if she didn't have a family. I agree. The first step of avoiding the "desperate housewife dilemma" is not to become one in the first place, right?
What do you think?
