Check with social services. They have classes available for potential adoptive parents. They may also suggest fostering for awhile first. They will also screen you for suitability, and the reasons you want to adopt.

Do keep in mind that raising children costs a fortune, and that older children who are adopted generally come needing a LOt of time, patience, understanding, and attention.

That said, good luck if this is what you want to do, and you know what you are getting in to, AND you have childrens best interests in mind.

Call your local child social services, they are the ones who know of available children. Look in your phone book, yellow pages, or government pages under "adoption".
