My six year old has been the only child for about 4 years, and now she has to share the glory of childhood with her 16 month old brother. It's like she HATES him. She has gone as far as hurting him, and just pain out being rude to him. Her thing is that we don't punish him like we do her (the cornor, grounding, etc...) We have tried to explain to her that he's too young for that kind of punishment but she still doesn't get it. Don't get me wrong, we spank him when needed. But that's about all you can do for a baby this age. When she see's him getting spanked, it's like a litte switch goes off in her head, and she gets this evil look in her eye's,like, "Yes! get him MOM, get him...." I find it kind of scary. I even take out time in the day just for her and I to play, and do things. But it's not enough for her. Its like it's all or nothing for her. And everytime we try to talk to her about it she starts the eye rolling and really doesn't listen to us at all. PLAESE HELP ME!

Unforeseen circumstances have caused an extreme hardship for my family. I am a born US citizen but my husband is not. He came to the US as a child (permanent resident) but never applied for citizenship. He is now on a immigration hold and has been taken over 600 miles away from our home for something that occurred over 9 years ago, before we met. We have a 8 month old daughter that he hasn't seen since she was 2 months old. Finances don't permit for us to travel to see him and it's hard providing the essentials sometimes. If you could find it in your hearts to help out with baby clothes-18-24mos (shoes-3w), I would gladly appreciate it. I welcome your emails and more than anything your prayers. I hope to hear from you soon.

I was at a two family parties over the weekend, and my cousin's fiancee was constantly flirting with me. He even told me that I can go swimming in his swimming pool when I have my own right in my yard! He kept running into me playing volleyball, and touching me. He did all of this right in front of my cousin, and she didn't say anything. He wanted me to go in the pool with him so he could "throw me around". What the hell?!?!

I am the youngest brother and I have 3 sisters from a traditional indian family. A few months back I graduated and my mum brought me a card and an expensive briefcase. The year before it was my sisters graduation and we got her nothing. She insisted we go out for a celebration and after the meal I suggested that she pay as kept saying she would. She said she didn't have her card so my parents paid. A few years back it was her birthday and we got her a card but no present. My mum handed her a bag of loose nuts. a few weeks later it was my birthday and my mum gave me some presents. My mum has always said I will get the property that she owns. that is 3 houses worth in total over half a million. However I am the youngest and it was my sisters who helped my mum pay for the mortagages...they turned over quite a bit of their salaries. My folks gave my two older sisters 'ok' weddings and for my other unmarried sister my mum is encouraging her to make it small.

I know I will probaly get slammed but darn it, why ruin a good thing here. Ask the funny questions I get a laugh from them too but leave out the sick jokes.

There is plenty of info in books/on the web about sibling jealousy/rivalry, but none on the parent who is jealous of his/her child. This is a condition that can have a devastating effect on the emotional growth of the child, but I can't seem to find any research on the subject. Can anyone please help?

how do i stop being so selfish as a father? do other parents get mad or upset when they have to wake up in the middle of the night? or when they dont have enough time to do things around the house to tend to their child? i just find that anytime that i am doing something i have to stop in the middle of what i am doing to just hold her and play with her, even though i just spent a half hour to an hour doing so? is this natural or am i selfish? please describe what you new parents think. I love my daughter more than anything, and i feel bad now, all i want to do now is go play with her. what can i do to enjoy this time with her in such need, or just quit being so selfish. it just seems at the most stressful time with her she smiles at me and melts my heart. I feel so bad now, which i know i deserve. I want the best for her and for me to quit being so selfish. only serious answers please.
