There is plenty of info in books/on the web about sibling jealousy/rivalry, but none on the parent who is jealous of his/her child. This is a condition that can have a devastating effect on the emotional growth of the child, but I can't seem to find any research on the subject. Can anyone please help?

I wish you luck with this search!

This is a situation my husband is in with his father. My husbands father is extremely jealous of my husband (job, family status, marriage, religious beliefs, friends...you name it!) and tried ever chance he could to "knock/belittle" my husband. That was until my husband finally realized what was going on and stopped any and all contact.

A parent should want more/better for their children. What a sad thing it is to have a parent envious of his child.

I would love to see what you come up with!
Best wishes!
