Tell her you enjoy talking with her but you are extremely busy with the new baby and all. Kindly ask her to call before she visits so you can make sure the time is convenient. Let her know you appreciate her advice but will ask for it when needed.
If all else fails don't answer the door anymore. She will get the hint.

Sit down with her over a cup of tea or coffee. Tell her in no uncertain terms that you are doing the best you can and that her critical remarks hurt you and upset you. Tell her that you cannot sit there waiting for the phone to ring--you are a busy Mom. Then let her know that you will not be running to the door to invite in guests who have not called first. That should take care of the matter. If she does come over uninvited, do not answer your door. You can also let her know that you are the boss in your own home, and that she should be aware of her nature to want to boss you around. Clear the air!!! You probably will both be happier. Tell her you love her and that you love to visit with her when you are not stressed out.

If your unable to just sit down and explain what about her presentation is upsetting then, approach the connected family member (sister-in-law=your husbands sister?) and explain that you need them to help solve a problem.

You need to talk to her. Let her know exactly what your feelings are. Chances are you will make her mad but problems like this don't go away on there own. You will need to confront her if you ever expect her to quit

Yes, you don't have to let everyone in who knocks at your door. You don't have to answer your fone everytime it rings. this is an important early lesson in life...hope you get it wired. good luck.

Talk it over with her and her hubby, she needs to know that she is being overbearing, maybe she thinks that you enjoy her.
