what holidays? you need to be specific. but i bet you mean christmas. ornaments, tinsel, wrapping paper, tape, ribbons and bows, food people dropped, the tree either tipping over or eating the tree or getting their eye poked out, somebody stepping on them, a snowdrift, a meteor shower, the world ends. honestly, anything could happen.

Available candy balls...keep them AWAY from kids, the hard ones. They can lodge in the throat and kids and choke to death. I was it for myself, and only a miracle saved the kid.
Outlets and Glass and other sharp Xmas tree ornaments and electrical outlets . Shocks, glass, etc. Keep all decorations soft and high enough kids cant reach them.
Kids eat tinsel. They have to be instructed NEVER to do this.
Kids can get hurt on open boxes of products which need assembly.
Kids are often overlooked in the excitement of celebrations, and I've see a drunken relative step on top an infant. Alcohol does things to hurt people.
Alcoholic drinks are often left unattended, and kids get to them too. Not good!
In door smoking should be banned at family gatherings.
Many kids have undiagnosed asthma.

The following are most of the holiday hazards that could lead to the following scenarios(listed in parenthesis):
1) exposed electrical cords to Christmas lights(shock)
2) tinsel(choking hazard)
3) tiny ornaments on trees(it's best to put them higher up as they pose a choking hazard)
4)glass ornaments on trees(can break and be stepped on or placed in mouth)
5)tree toppling over because child is not being properly supervised and is tugging at tree branches could cause severe injuries, including death(depending on size of child)
6)A menorah not properly supervised could tip and start a fire(same with a yule log if not placed out of a childs reach it could burn them)
7)toddlers/babies tugging at christmas lights while on the windows and trees(could present a shock hazard if they play with the bulbs or try to place them in their mouths.
8) Holiday candles left unattended(same as yule log and menorah, could burn a child or start a fire if left unattended by an adult)

Holidays involve a lot of fire. You have bbq's fireworks, ovens, fireplaces. Just keep an eye on your kids because everyone else is preoccupied with all the trappings
