i'm not trying to be cold or sick. i'm not trying to put down a group of people.
like some young women may abort the child or throw it away. i know someone that would love to raise a hispanic/latino child. are there any places to find mothers who have given up the rights to her infant?

My dad is a major homophob. He also has problems controling his temper. I don't know when or if I should tell him. My mom is okay with homosexuality, but I still can sense some tension when I get on the topic with her. I'm only fifteen right now and I don't plan to tell my family until I move out of the house so I don't have to deal with my dad as much. Is that a good plan, because I'm still a little uneasy.

please do not say, who cares or so what. we are all on here, some of us, to get answers to certain questions.

How to you offer constructive critisism to your child without damaging their self-esteem?? Any tips on building self-esteem in a young child? (ages 3, 7,8, and 10) I always offer lots of praise, but I want to be honest with my child when something they do needs improvement so that they wont see everything through "rose-colored glasses". Ex. sports, artwork, chores, etc. Im not meaning little nitpicky things, but when they want real advice, how can I be honest without hurting them?

My cousin has been at my house for 2 weeks now and she wets the bed every night now so she is in goodnights and now she is wetting during the day and she has done it in front of her friends the doctor said its not and infection he said it is either stress, emotional problems, she is home sick(I hope living with me isn't that bad), or she is doing it on purpose. I'm thinking of putting her into goodnights during the day too, instead of following her parent reccommendation of diapering her. I don't want to embarrass her or anything, cause she is twelve and I'm 19 as of last week and I'm a guy. Sooooooooo any suggestion please give them to me, I could really use them.

My mom and I are not getting alone latley...we argue over everything....our latest one was i went to TN for a week and a half and she got mad at me when she found out i went over my cuz bf's house with my cuz, her bf, and another guy (even though my uncle, aunt, and grandparents said it was o.k...(nothing happened or was going to happen either)...she gets mad at me for everything...even things i don't do
Its not like i am one of those teenagers who always get in trouble or do bad things so i don't know what i am doing wrong...i am her oldest child but it still doesn't give her a reason to treat my like crap and get mad at me for stupid things like not wanting to read a book that exact second (i wanted to write instead)...i need someone to tell me what to do before i really get in trouble when I smack her!!!!!

she has serious issues. she won't let my brother spend time with his family. we've always been extremely close, but i haven't really spent much time with him in the past three years. he hasn't even met my 6 month-old son yet, and my poor mother hasn't met her 2 year-old grandson yet. she won't see my mother, and she doesn't like for any of us to visit. And get this . . . she's about to become a preacher! Considering how close all of us sisters are to my brother, what should I do? I've been so "understanding" for the past years, but I'm tired of my kids not getting to know their cousins, and I miss my brother.

I am an adult and have two small children. My mom has had a drinking problem for a long time, but won't admit it or do anything about it. I do not want her to drink around my kids, which I think is very reasonable. Today she called to invite me to dinner and when i got there with my kids, she was very drunk. I told the kids we were leaving and she got very upset. My oldest daughter didn't understand why we had to leave since we had just gotten there and started throwing a fit and crying and yelling for her grandma. It was very ugly and she squirmed out of my hands and ran to my mom and my mom didn't want to let her go so I could take her home. My mom told me I should just stay so my daughter would stop crying and "why was I doing this". It was very traumatic for my daughter and me and I have no clue where to go from here. What would you do if you were in this situation? :(
