My son was supposed to go to Omaha with his father this weekend. But his father found out that he had to be gone longer than he thought. So, of course my son didn't get to see him, which is something he's getting used to. His parents were also driving down there, and was coming back sooner. His parents went to pick there other grandson up who stays with them for a month every summer. However, my son lives in the same city they do, and he hardly ever see them. Anyhow, his dad asked his parents would it be ok, if our son rode back home with them. His mother told him no, she just didn't feel like being bothered. I am just getting so fed up with her and the way she do my son. But, when she want to see him which she'll probably call for him once every 6-8 months, she want me to just be ok, with that. I don't want to be mean or anything, but I'm starting to get to the point where when she do call for him, I want to tell her NO, not this time. Tell me your input on this situation....

The thoughts of many people are set on tommorrow.
Matthew 6:34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

We should do something with our thoughts that will help us to focus on today.
Phillipians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Share your daily goals and plans with God.
Matthew 7:7 Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

My husband is very spiritual and does not allow our kids to watch anything with profanity in it, or that has any kind of sexual reference to it. He doesn't even allow them to watch some disney shows that show a guy and a girl kissing at the prom or whatever. My brother wanted to take my son to see spiderman 3 and x-men and my husband objects to those kind of movies. My family thinks that it is going to affect the kids in the long run because he is being to much of a control freak, and he is overly bearing. This is a constant strain in our relationship because I have seen what being overprotective can do to children. My niece grew up with overly religious parents who acted just like my husband. Now that she is 18, she has moved out and now is shacking up living with some boy, curses worse than a sailor, and had a pregnancy scare once or twice! Her brother had a baby out of wedlock! I think that my husband needs to relax, What do you think?

I have an 11 month old daughter who picks up quickly on things but has a short attention span. What is a good way to teach her things such as gestures and words like up and down or how to recognize parts of a face (i.e. nose, lips, eyes, etc) as well as colors and shapes?

I can't stand the way she talks with an old fashioned accent.. I can't stand the way she walks so slow.. I can't stand the way she's always complaning about how she can't see and how bad her back hurts. I hate the old lady clothes she wears...

Whenever she talks to me I give her a short answer and try to act like I can't hear her. For some reason I cannot stand my 92 year old great-grandmother.

Does anybody else have this same problem?

If your not married to a woman, but have a baby with her and the baby gets your last name. Then you break up and the woman wants to change the babys last name. Would they need to father permission to do that or can the mother just change it.

I started seeing her again because I wanted to see my dad and my brothers. I am 23 years old, I haven't lived at home since 18, I put myself thru college, have a good stable job and I have a house of my own. I don’t do drugs, drink, party or anything else like that. I was always a good kid, and I still am!

I cut her off because she was being negative and mean to me. She says things like I shouldn't have children because they will grow up in a bad home with me yelling at them all of the time. She has said my husband will leave me because I am ***** and a know-it-all.

She rains on my parade and discourages me in everything I do. Its almost like she doesn't want to see me happy.

When I see her now she watches what she says but she still says I shouldn't have children until I am 30 and makes sour faces when my husband and I talk about having a child one day.

I am thinking about limiting contact again and seeing if that works.

Any ideas? She only treats me this way.

us kids were raised in an unfriendly, disloyal, jealous and competitive attmosphere by our unhappy and disloyal parents so we were pretty mean and competitive when little. to me our 'rivalry' was more about how we were raised than any natural tendencies to compete in us kids. how were you raised and was there 'rivalry' between you kids? if yes, why do you think you were competitive?

I have a wonderful, bright, inelegant, well rounded 12 year old daughter, who is absolutely amazing! She has a great head on her shoulders and a plan for her future. Good friends and good surroundings. I couldn’t imagine her ever getting into any kind of trouble. But, I still feel the need to double check and I do snoop through her things. (cell phone, e-mails, bedroom) when she isn’t around. I just want to make sure all is well, and put my mind at ease.
Is this wrong? An invasion of privacy? Possible a boundary line has been crossed?
Any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, and God bless.

My sister annouced she was getting divorced about a year ago. She says my parents pressured her to get married. So not true! As her family, we have all tried to support her and help her out. None of us agree with the reasons for the divorce or understand where it came from. Since, she has made new "friends" and her life revolves around the next party. My sister and I are at two diffrent places in our lives right now and I miss her, but I do not agree with her new lifestyle nor do I like her new "friends". I think she needs to focus on being a mom and take time to be single and strong. I also think she needs to stop placing blame on everyone else and take responsibilty for her choices. Am I wrong to feel this way. How do I get my sister back? I don't know who the person is that invaded her body, but it is surely not my sister.
