I'm a 44 year old divorced mother (I have full custody of my son).
I separated from my ex when I was 40.

Since then, especially lately, I am literally the only woman I know among friends, family, co-workers, casual acquaintences, my son's friends' parents, etc. who is freakin single. I never seem to meet anyone to even date! I'm either working or raising my son--I'm BUSY.

I'm good looking and sociable. I was a dating-maniac before I met my ex-husband.

I literally am starting to feel like a freak. Why am I apparently the only woman who isn't "with" someone. I cannot believe all these people have something I don't.

I'm really not a freak, people like me...but where in the blue he!! do these women find someone and never spend ANY time by themselves (the unmarried ones who are NOT alone).

I cannot tell you people how badly I miss sex either.

I suppose I already know my answer, deep down, I just need to vent. I'm lonely and frustrated and starting to hate "couples."

My current boyfriend, who is also my ex, because we've been dating off and on for about 3 years, dated my sister over the summer. They were having problems and always fighting. I was ticked at my sister because he was MY ex. so to get back at her, I messed around with him and now were together. He's moving away, and he's worried about ME cheating. You know the saying, "If he cheated with you, he'll probably cheat on you"? Well, he SWEARS he wouldn't do that intentionally but he think I won't be faithful. I've nevr cheated on any of my ex's before. Who should really be the one worrying??

What does a successful marriage mean to you?

I need advice on a situation that is upsetting me. I am engaged to a man who is in the army and was in Iraq for a year before we met. While he was there, he had a relationship with an engaged woman. After they came back to the U.S., she broke off the relationship and married her fiance. He tells me that he is over her and that I am the only woman in his life and that he's never loved anyone more than me. However, I recently came across one of his emails that told her that he had a dream about her and that she had set higher standards for him in meeting women and that he would rather be single than be with someone who was not appropriate for him and now he has met someone (meaning me). He wrote to her that I was a lot of things she was not, but that I wasn't a lot of things she was. I know that snooping in his email was wrong but I confronted him about it and he said that he was telling her that he was moving on and realizes that it was wrong to send it. Am I over-reacting?

Basically, I need help writing a script for a short film that I am going to be shooting soon.

Part of it calls for a high school student, who is a drug addict, to do something while being high that would make his girlfriend break up with him.

Breaking up with him just for doing drugs WILL NOT cut it, cause that doesn't make for good entertainment - some sort of an event has to push the girl to the point that she breaks up with him.

I asked this question before, but i got some f-ed up answers. I want to keep the film borderline pg-13, so please no rape or especially gay sex.

I went on this great date with a guy and when he dropped me off he says. See you later. I really want to see him again, but I don't want to be aggressive. Does he mean see you later as in he really wants to see me again. How long should I wait before calling him or pursuing this.

My husband of over 3 yrs,has never once romanced me,except when he was first seeing me,then the day of marriage he completely changed. He has never given me a birthday gift, taken me out for a romantic evening out,or even given me a long and deep kiss on a regular basis. When I confront him about this he says hes not the romantic type and that he feels the only time he needs to spend with me is when we go do our weekly shopping.I am a housewife due to health issues, and I only get to go out on sunday evenings for our weekly grocery shopping, other then that I get taken to the church occassionally, and those are the only places I get to go.I am 26 yrs old and I have been suffering terribly in this marriage due to feeling neglected and unloved,Ive tried everything, getting my own friends,my own hobbies, making myself busy, distracting myself with books and even prayer. He refuses to change and says dont expect this from him ever (meaning expect him to be romantic or give me intimate time.HELP

I'm asking because of a magazine article that I read saying that guys actually like to date single moms because they're independant, have jobs and money and a place of their own, have a life besides the guy, and don't play 'head games' because they don't 'have time to fool around' with relationship drama.

Is this true? I really would have thought that single guys would run scared from single moms.

Today is his day off he works 4 days a week, 3 off . Its now 8:46 pm and he's been watching movies since 10:am. He does this everyday off. he's either watching movies all day, or on the internet all day and doesnt like any disturbance. He doesnt go anywhere with me and the baby. He doesnt do anything around the house on his days off, just sit there and ask me to cook for him twice a day. He gets so mad if me and the baby goes in the living room playing or making any noice. I get ignored all day everyday and i do everything alone. The only way he interacts with me is sometimes he'll come where im at and grab my boobs, or my butt......but no conversation, no nothing. All sexual...What could this be? Its been like this everysince we've had the baby. Shes almost a year old. I've asked him many times to go to counseling with me but he says we can't afford it. He keeps saying he's leaving when he gets enough money, never happens. I have to beg him to take out the trash.

I am away at college 2 hours away from my boyfriend. Even when I am at home, he still lives an hour away. He will either come to see me at my dorm and we will usually have the room to ourselves for the weekend or more or I will go home for the weekend and spend every moment with him. Is there such thing as too much sex. We are having sex at least 2 to 3 times a day.

Sexy,

Wow, thank you so much for composing such a detailed and thoughtful reply to my recent message. So where are you hiding that PhD degree? You have incredible insights and ability to drill down to the nuances most anyone would miss. I knew you were special...this example just continues to reveal that fact. Yet I am still astonished and even swept away by the depth of feedback you have given me. That you care enough to even take the time, the kind effort & thought, is impressive. But the ability you possess for finding a subjective meaning, is brilliant.

I've had to read your reply several times, just to take it all in. Some points you make I might disagree with initially, but actually you're probably right even if I don't want to admit it. I don't see myself as complex enough, emotionally, to have "innermost" feelings of any kind. Whether it is fear, as you state-- or simply the fact I am a "loner," there is a major tendency on my part to avoid emotions and personal connections. You haven't taken it as a personal insult that I am like this, although you easily could have started finding fault in response if you were a different kind of person. But since you are a wise, caring, brilliant man, you actually see that there is more than meets the eye when figuring out why people do the things they do.

I hope maybe we can talk or chat later, but if not, I will get back with you sometime soon.

With awestruck love,

Pumpkin
