Creating more consumers doesn't sound environmentally friendly to me. I better now turn off the tap whilst brushing my teeth, my neighbor has just given birth to twins and there just isn't enough water to go around.

Hold on...there is some logic here...

What car do many of them drive? Ding, Ding, Ding...An old, beat up, air-cooled, 2-stroke, Volkswagen Bus. Can you think of a dirtier engine? I have also seen several of these air-cooled monsters on fire by the side of the road...THAT is definitely bad for the environment.

People think that saying the land is barren is a complete explanation of why dont seem to be able to offer these people any option but shipping food to them.
What would have to happen to renew the land and how might those in need be taught the skills necessary to help themselves?

if you believe in god, then you'll say god created us all.. but i don't believe in god, so please, tell me something..

if evolution is how we all got here, and we evolved from apes, how the hell did the apes get here.. and if the organisms are what turned into the apes and other things, then how did those organisms get here... what's more.. Who's ever wondered how the world even started? please, don't tell me that god is the one who did it all... i really don't think that some guy up above the clouds randomly thought "hmm i think i'll invent people today." But i am SO curious.. PLEASE HELP ME OUT!!

In the 1960's Rachel Carson wrote Silent Spring, which led to the worldwide ban on DDT. For this, she was posthumously given the Presidential Medal of Freedom and other honors, such as having public buildings named after her. However, improved research has shown that DDT is not a carcinogen as it was believed to have been in those days. Also, DDT is effective in much smaller amounts that was realized, so that it can be applied much more judiciously, without accumulating in birds' eggs.

Wikipedia gives the MINIMUM estimated number of deaths from malaria as approximately 1.5 million per year. The ban took effect in the 1970's and 80's, so use a late date, 1985 as the year DDT became fully banned.

1.5 million x (2006 - 1985) = a MINIMUM of 31.5 million worldwide human deaths due to the lack of DDT.

This is more deaths than caused by Pol Pot, Idi Amin, Hitler, Stalin, and ranks alongside those caused by Margaret Sanger, worldwide!

In less then 90 years the polar bears will have no ice left were will they go? In less than 90 years the oceans will rise by 1 - 2 meters... How soon will we all be under water? More than ever major weather changes have been destroying the planet's ecosystems? And look at the destruction storms have caused... Will we soon destroy ourselfs? Will only the rich survive? Is there a greater power that will soon step in and save us?

People assume that some problems are insurmountable because they assume that certain factors are immutable. "since you can't fix this one thing in this one way...the problem is unsolvable"
I am looking to change that.

I never really understood why this would even have to be asked. The sun is free and has almost unlimited energy potential. For that matter, why do solar panels cost so much? Is is just because they are not commonly made? If everyone had solar panels on their own homes, it would significantly decrease the amount of energy that needs to be produced by power companies.

It looks exactly like a brown widow spider, but I'm in Maine! And, I've seen the same spider also at other peoples homes! And we have this white spider who looks just like the brown, only without the yellow mark on the belly. The body itself is at least as big as a quarter! Any ideas?
