In order to for plants to grow and thrive they need nutrients in the ground. when plants grow they take away the nutrients in the ground. Without decomposers to destroy living matter and release the necessary minerals into the ground for the plants to grow. animals would have no plants to eat, and then the humans would have no meat to eat. So without decomposers to break down dead materials and release nutrients into the ground the entire food chain would be thrown off and the entire world would starve to death

Without decomposers, the nutrients inside the deceased organism would not be recylced into the cycle of life. If nothing decomposed, the planet would be full of dead bodies/plants!
