Ideally, I'd like to store it as fuel for my camping stove.

It is certainly not green. It contains toxic gases that contibute to global warming

Although incredibly funny, your presumption isn't correct - Flatulence isn't a green energy source; it's a brown one.

1)Flatulence is primarily methane, which is a green-house gas and has been shown to increase global warming.

2)Methane has very little tappable energy when compared to larger hydrocarbons like butane or octane.

3)If burned, or used for energy, methane would still aid in the production of NO2, lower atmospheric ozone and all of the other components of smog because it is still a hydrocarbon, which is what we use for fuel now.

The only real way it could have any aspect of being green would be if you used the anal winds to turn turbines to create electricity; but see #1 above to see how it wouldn't be green.

Keep looking for those renewable sources!

you will maybe laugh... but that is exactly what a german farmer has done... cows do produce large quantities of methane, much more on a per pound basis than humans or other animals... what he does is to put a kind of funnel over their asses, straps it down and collects the farts along with the doodoos... he has build a machine that can divide the methane from the whole thing, and other inflammable gases as well and routes them to a burner where he produces electricity with it. sound weird, but actually works. positive side effect, no **** in the stables, but he says its time consuming to keep the funnels in place, and it doesnt really pay off either...

besides... coming from a natural source is NOT the same as green... any kind of winning energy from carbohydrates leaves the carbonpart behind, usually in form of Carbondioxyde... CO2?

Try putting a wind turbine in your underpants. T

hen try high speed flatulence in order to generate electricity.

This was actually a proposal put to the Abu Dhabi board of pest control in the late 80's.

Eat beans and nuts and drink beer then it'll get windy for sure!

Light your gas and use the heat to warm water and hopefully (after a good many episodes of gaseous exchange) turn a steam turbine.

After a lifetime you may be able to create enough energy to power an LED for a nano second.

it is maintaining a constant supply that is the problem, probably you could use a tube inserted into the source with a pilot light and the heat would be developed through combustion as the methane was released, the position of the flame ejection tube might be difficult to optimise though as it would of nescessity have to be on your person.

Cows make more methane than power station etc. I do belive that there has been some tests where pipes have been place up the cows behind and the gas harvested.

Fart alot in a small room, if it's a good batch you can much away and it'll save you a meal (and the planet will save some valuable resources)!

And then China and America can use them all. :-)
