Where do you think the carbon dioxide comes from. By storing carbon dioxide in the sodas you are actually removing CO2. You might not believe it because all you hear are negative things but warming isn't so bad nor is high CO2 concentrations. It will result in increased crop yeilds, less hunger, fewer starving children, etc. I urge you not to believe the chicken littles of this world. Global Warming is not worth worrying about.

No.
It wouldn't help a bit.
However, if you could put an end
to jet planes flying all over the world
at 15,000, 20,000, 25,000, and 30,000
feet altitude that might cure a lot of the
Global Warming problems. Those Jet
Aircraft burn up thousands and thousands
of gallons of aviation gas at high altitudes
next to where the layer of ozone is located.
Every gallon of gasoline that is burned
in engines creates 19 pounds
of Carbon Dioxide.
Trees take in Carbon Dioxide and give off
Oxygen.
Which is the greater evil, a car on the street,
or a jet plane at 20,000 feet in the sky. Are
you confused? Where are the trees exactly?
Certainly not at 20,000 feet altitude.
Now that you see a glimmer of the truth...
A car's gas tank holds what? Maybe 25
gallons of gasoline and that gas lasts for
what a week maybe?
A commercial passenger jet has gas tanks
that hold what? Maybe 4000 gallons of gas,
and that gas lasts how long? Maybe one
flight of 2,000 miles, and most of it is burned
at very high altitudes.
So what are we going to do about Global
Warming? I think you will see a lot of
nothing done.

I can't see why it wouldn't, i mean less CO2 would be pumped into the air... of course by the same right if we were to kill off 3/4 of the human population over a 10 year period the same result would be achieve, less CO2 in atmosphere means less warming effect.
OK so the actual answer is no, as carbonated drinks aren't considered a major source of greenhouse gas, it would only decrease the effect by an amount that is almost unmeasurable But yeah good point, i may have to steal it for an essay or something.

Not enough to matter. There are many sources of CO2, large and small. Most are too small to matter much.
The large ones that count are power plants, transportation (cars, etc.), and heating buildings with coal or oil. Those are the ones we need to reduce.
Edit:
To the guy below who thinks controlling aircraft emissions would be effective. Aircraft are responsible for about 3% of global warming. Electricity generation is 30%, ten times as much. We could put more of a dent in the problem if people would replace incandescent bulbs with compact fluorescent than by trying to control aircraft emissions.
Aircraft can be a part of the solution, but it's a small part.

Actually it is CO2 neutral. CO2 is pumped into the drink initially reducing CO2 levels. What you must not do is burp after drinking softdrink as this releases the CO2. Hold it in an get a stomache ache, you'll be doing your bit for the planet. Actually, you should start a campaign against fizzy drinks, then people can see how stupid environmentalists really are.

No. But it would help those of us who drink them and are killing ourselves slowly by consuming phospohoric acid
