I am tutoring this 2nd grade ADHD kid and all he wants to do is play with Legos. I have to tutor him in math and reading, but no matter how many cool, fun games that I come up with, I still feel like I can't grab his interest. Any ideas?? Thanks.

Hi, i was wondering if teaching in Dubai required the same qualifications as it would if i was to teach in the UK. Would i have to do a further course overseas in order to teach there? Hope everyone understands the question. Thanks.xx

I am pretty sure that you need a Masters in Ed, but I would like to know for sure. I already have my degree in Political Science, coupled with many state of IL. required courses. This question pertains to teaching in Chicago, IL. Thanks!

I was wondering if there are any professors who can shed some light on this for me? Do you have to have a Phd in the subject that you are teaching or is only a masters okay? Im currently studying communications in university but am looking to teach in a college setting. Any help would be great. Thanks

My school district is becoming rather strict regarding what books can be used for whole-class instruction. We currently have a Reading Recommendation list, and if a book is on the list for another grade, it's off limits for any other grade. There are talks of making this list the Required Reading (you can't read anything BUT the books on the list). Personally I think this takes away from the professionalism of teachers to select appropriate books for their INDIVIDUAL classrooms (the make-up of a class changes from year to year). That's not my question though. :) I simply would like to know what sorts of policies there are in other states and school districts. Thanks!

I'm struggling with getting my overhead transparencies clean. I've tried water and glass cleaner and after a few cleanings and uses on the same transparency, they're still so dingy. What's the best way to get them clean?

If I am an American Teacher hoping to find a teaching position in the UK, would TES be a sufficient way of searching for a position? Or, would going through a recruitment agency be the best way of securing a job due to the need for a work permit?

I know that Tupac read Niccolo Machiavelli's "The Prince" while in prison and that it had an impact on his work. However, I am having difficulty finding SPECIFIC examples (lyrics, poetry, etc.) that illustrate this. Any help or information? Links?
